Story
A SWEET LOVE BUG:  Approx. 4 years old / Approx. 25 lbs. Hi, my name is Jimmy!  Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control, and I am so grateful for the love and good care I’ve been receiving – both at the shelter and in some recent foster homes.  I’m now ready to meet my new furever family, and that makes me super happy! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I liked the dogs in my previous foster home and would engage them in play.  I met some dogs at Mostly Mutts as well, and I didn’t want to play but I also didn’t show any aggression.  I seem to like it when the dogs around me are calm, so perhaps a mellow dog would be best for me.  Let’s meet! / I had no reaction to the cat in one of my former foster homes, so I may become friends with a dog-friendly kitty. / In my former foster home, I did well with the 3- and 6-year-olds that lived there as well as the teen in another foster home.  I do jump for attention, so best no toddlers that I may accidentally bump over and - of course, let’s meet!     • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  The volunteers say I am ‘the cutest beagle that there ever was’.  I was pretty scared when I first arrived at the shelter, but – true to my curious beagle nature, I started to come out of my shell when I had something to sniff.   I’m a gentle soul with a calm and very sweet demeanor.  I am a bit shy, but I am also an affectionate love bug, so I don’t stay shy too long. An active chewer, you’ll want to have chew toys available and put away anything I could get into mischief with by chewing.  I’m a social guy and want to be where my people are. I’ve been pretty quiet other than when I saw myself in a mirror – who is that and where did they come from? / My energy level is 4-6, though higher when it’s playtime. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I will be learning lots of great commands with my trainer.  Check back soon to see my progress. I was unfamiliar with stairs in one of my foster homes, so I may need to learn those in my new home. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts.  In my foster home, I cried the first night but settled in better after that, though it’s not my favorite place to spend a lot of time in.  Because of my love for chewing on things, it’s best that I’m crated when you are not with me. / Other than a couple of accidents in my crate, my potty habits have been good on a consistent schedule, so hopefully that will be the case in my new home, too. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love being near my people - giving and receiving affection.  Being held and getting those great belly rubs – they are a mandatory part of my cuddle sessions!  I enjoy playing with people and toys alike, so let’s have lots of fun play sessions together and lots of toys and appropriate things for me to chew on.  Chewing is a favorite pastime and – if left alone, I may become anxious and chew whatever is available, so be mindful of items in my environment that you don’t want to fall victim to my chewing. / I am not fan of cold weather like lots of dogs and baths aren’t my favorite thing either.  I sometimes startle at unfamiliar household noises, but I’m sure I’ll get used to the noises in my new home given a little time. I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I am looking for a great home with a loving family!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  January 28, 2025, 7:17 pm

Story
Sweetest most cuddly dog ever. He needs a home that has a lot of fenced in space. I do not have that. Love him so much and have zero issues with him other than he would love to be on a big space of land to run more free. I adopted him from a family whom his parents passed away. They had a big farm for him to run around in. I just don’t have that. He also needs a lot of loving on and attention. And I work full time. He was previously with a retired older couple that were always around for him. And I am unfortunately not, since I work fulltime. But he will lay on your lap and shoulder like a baby, sweetest and SOFTEST dog I’ve ever known.

Story
Hello Penny is a 10 month old beagle mix. She is a sweet loving puppy that loves to run and play. Due to my current job situation i wouldn’t be able to give her the attention and care she needs. I am just looking for a good loving home that will love and care for Penny the way she deserves.

Story
Doxy is a 9 year old, 17 pound, Beagle/Doxy mix. He was returned to AAU because his adopter was going into a senior living situation. He is a very sweet little dog. He does bark a lot, so he can not live in an apartment or condo. He is house trained, but he’s on Lasix (a fluid pill) for his heart condition. He can only be left for a few hours or so, depending on the time you gave the medication.    Speaking of his heart condition, Doxy does have rather advanced heart disease. He is on 2 other heart medications besides the Lasix. And I’ll add to his being left, that he has separation anxiety. He needs a home with another sweet dog. I would not crate him. I do have 2 personal dogs and I give them and Doxy the run of the house when I leave.    Doxy also has urinary crystals and must be on a special diet. Finally, he has Gallbladder disease for which he must take medication. Summing it up, he will be on a special diet and medication for the rest of his life. He would do best with a fenced yard because of his medication.   I know he sounds like a train wreck, but he’s a very good dog. He loves everyone and other dogs. He is not a fan of cats. Doxy is very attached to his people and smart! He picked up our routine quickly. He enjoys watching TV on the sofa.    Doxy is also a good watch dog. He spends much of his day “lounging”. He loves, loves, loves his evening leash walks. Honestly, you would never know he had any health issues when you meet him. I am retired and have a busy life. Doxy’s health issues have not interfered with my lifestyle. He has only added love to our household! An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online at http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms  For inquiries, email inquiry@angelsrescue.org Please be sure to like our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue. Doxy is a sweet and loving 9-year-old Beagle/Dachshund mix weighing in at 17 pounds. This charming little guy adores everyone he meets and gets along well with other dogs, though cats aren’t quite his cup of tea. What makes Doxy special:   Doxy has some medical needs, so he’s looking for a dedicated and compassionate -person to provide him with the care he deserves. He’ll need to stay on a special diet to prevent urinary crystals and will require lifelong medications for his heart and gallbladder. Despite these challenges, Doxy is full of life and love! His perfect home: --A fenced yard where he can easily go out.  He's potty trained but prefers going out every 4 - 5 hours. --A stay-at-home parent or someone with a flexible schedule to keep him company and help with his separation anxiety. Having another sweet dog in the home helps him feel secure, too! --A peaceful setting, as Doxy’s barky moments may not suit apartment or condo living.   What Doxy loves: --Evening leash walks—his absolute favorite activity! --Lounging during the day and snuggling on the sofa to watch TV with his family. --Being involved in family routines, as he’s a smart boy who quickly adapts to new schedules.   Though he’s a great watchdog and has some special needs, Doxy doesn’t let his medical issues slow him down. His foster mom, a busy retiree, says he has only brought love and joy into her home. Doxy is looking for someone as special as he is—someone who will give him the love and care he needs to thrive.          January 15, 2025, 8:10 pm

Story
Hello, friends! My name is Jack Star, and I really do feel like a star since I was rescued. I'm getting yummy food, toys to play with, and lots of TLC. I'm a beagle boy and I weigh 29 pounds. I'm estimated to be six years old, but I act younger than my age. Foster mama says I'm a goofball who's down to clown whenever and wherever. I love people and cuddling! I also love other dogs and enjoy playing with them. I am best friends with two of my foster fur brothers and we wrestle and play every day. It's so much fun! I'm perfectly house trained and pretty good walking on a leash. Like many beagles, I let my nose lead the way! I will go into a crate if you give me a tasty treat, but I don't like being left alone and will loudly sing the song of my people for a few minutes before quieting down and napping. It would be best if I didn't live in a place where walls are shared with neighbors like apartments, condos, or townhomes.   I was Heartworm positive, but I've finished treatment and I’m ready to find my new home. I can be pre-adopted in the meantime. Foster mama says whoever adopts me is going to be so lucky to have such a funny  and loving pup. I can't wait to find that special person! I'm going to love them so much!    An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online. http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms  Please be sure to like our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org  Note: Some apartments and neighborhoods have breed restrictions.
