Story
St. Roch, now Rocky, was adopted by a loving family and returned to us through no fault of his own. Rocky turned 3 in October 2024 and is: crate trained, house broken, leash trained, good with children, dogs large and small, calm during thunderstorms, and knows his basic commands. His fur is so SOFT, you won’t believe how soft fur can be until you pet him. Rocky is playful by with other dogs by nature so living with a playful brother or sister would be a plus but not required. Rocky is a phenomenal riding companion and remains chill even with windows down at bustling gas stations. Rocky does have one quirk, however, that will require a special fit home. He does not do well in large gathering or party environments. Rocky likes his peace and quiet at home, maybe that ‘s his secret to staying so cool headed when on the go? Possibly!?  While Rocky will certainly oblige an occasional house party by hiding in a bedroom, he won’t be making his rounds to say hello to guests. We want to see Rocky find a furever home where his family values quiet living as much as he does. Once he warms up to you, you will find yourself with the sweetest, smartest, and most loving companion you could ask for.  This is his family's story:   These adorable puppies were born to a stray mom and lived their first three weeks snuggled together in an old out building. No one knew they were there but the locals knew Momma, Joanie had given birth. We don't know how she was able to feed 8 littles as she at the mercy of folks leaving her scraps from a local cafe. When Joanie was finally caught and her babies found, they were taken to a loving foster home. Once she knew she was safe, she became a totally different dog and seemed so grateful for lovies and all the food she could eat to continue caring for her precious babies who are called The Saints: Joan of Arc and her 8 littles: Stella Maris, St. Christina, St. Angelina, St. Jude, St. Blaise, St. Hugh, St. Roch, St. Francis (3 girls & 5 boys)!! They were born around October 15th, 2021. We believe Joan to be a Beagle/Lab mix who weighs 40lbs and dad to be a black & tan coonhound who weighs approximately 50lbs so the puppies should be medium sized doggos. Roch is the same beautiful red color as his mom, Joan.  He, like his siblings is a sweetheart.  Submit your application to meet/foster/adopt Rocky!! www.dirtroaddoggiesrescue.org ##1281846##

Story
Birthday: 4/14/2019 Weight: 24lb Ginger is 5 years old, and her favorite thing is snuggle up next to you! We adopted her from a family who was unable to keep her due to rental restrictions in 2019. She is currently in a house with another dog and 2 young kids aged 3 and under, and she has done well with them. She is very sweet and absolutely adores attention. She is very food motivated. She is fairly active - she loves to go on her walks and loves running around playing fetch with a ball. I think she would do well in a house with adults who have the time to go outside with her and play. Ginger has some anxiety and can be defensive/territorial. Although she is very comfortable with members of the household, she will bark at guests entering the home or neighbors who are too near the house. Note: she does have a history of bites with male guests and male neighbors - does well with being crated when guests are over, needs to be leashed when outside.

Story
Lily is a 5 year old beagle mix. She lost her home when the owners left her behind. We got Lily and got her completely vetted. Lily is a very sweet girl and at first can be shy until she gets to you. Lily came to us very sick. We thought Lily had a UTI but it turns out she had a huge bladder stone. Lily has since had surgery & will need to eat urinary specialty food the rest of her life. Lily will need a commitment to feed her & not let her eat any other food.  Lily is a very sweet girl who loves to play with smaller dogs.  If you would like to meet Lily, please fill out an on line adoption application at www.alcovypet.org  Alcovy's Beagles require a secure fenced-in yard.  Our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on all vaccines, up to date on heart-worm preventative and flea preventative and micro-chipped. If interested in adoption, please complete an online application on Alcovy Pet Rescue's website at www.alcovypet.com. You must have a vet reference to adopt. We verify the care of past/current pets. Applications without a vet reference will not be approved for adoption. Our goal is to have the very best home for all our dogs and cats and therefore we reserve the right to approve or deny an application based on what we determine is in the pet's best interest. If interested in adoption, please complete an online application on Alcovy Pet Rescue's website at www.alcovypet.com.  You must have a vet reference to adopt.  We verify the care of past/current pets.  Applications without a vet reference will not be approved for adoption. Story
Hi, I’m Arthur! I’m a 3 year old beagle, and let me be completely honest…I did not have the best experience with people before I came to Hero. My foster family has been really patient with me, and I’m slowly starting to trust again. I still am not so comfortable with hugs and pets, but I do like hanging out with my peeps and knowing they are around. So I need a family who will work with me, be patient, and help me to fully trust and love, and I’ll become your buddy for life. I am told that I’m a very good boy, and I LOVE other dogs and puppies – although those little yappers do make me nervous until I get used to them. I am a hound, so I really need yard with a fence. And not just any fence will do, as I would be up and over a chain link fence pretty darn fast. I’m gentle, sweet and wouldn’t hurt a flea. I’m just looking for a family who can help me continue coming out of my shell and becoming the bestest pup that I know is in here somewhere. If you’d like to meet me, please fill out an application and let’s meet you soon! Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.
