Story
Lily is a 5 year old beagle mix. She lost her home when the owners left her behind. We got Lily and got her completely vetted. Lily is a very sweet girl and at first can be shy until she gets to you. Lily came to us very sick. We thought Lily had a UTI but it turns out she had a huge bladder stone. Lily has since had surgery & will need to eat urinary specialty food the rest of her life. Lily will need a commitment to feed her & not let her eat any other food.  Lily is a very sweet girl who loves to play with smaller dogs.  If you would like to meet Lily, please fill out an on line adoption application at www.alcovypet.org  Alcovy's Beagles require a secure fenced-in yard.  Our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on all vaccines, up to date on heart-worm preventative and flea preventative and micro-chipped. If interested in adoption, please complete an online application on Alcovy Pet Rescue's website at www.alcovypet.com. You must have a vet reference to adopt. We verify the care of past/current pets. Applications without a vet reference will not be approved for adoption. Our goal is to have the very best home for all our dogs and cats and therefore we reserve the right to approve or deny an application based on what we determine is in the pet's best interest. If interested in adoption, please complete an online application on Alcovy Pet Rescue's website at www.alcovypet.com.  You must have a vet reference to adopt.  We verify the care of past/current pets.  Applications without a vet reference will not be approved for adoption. Story
Taco was originally surrendered by his first owner at 6 weeks old due to an injury that left him with a broken pelvis, a lumbar fracture which had left him paralyzed in his pelvic limbs, and was incontinent. I got twice a day laser treatments and daily hydrotherapy exercises to rehab him. He has been with me for the last 7 years and has been loved and cared for dearly. Taco has regained the ability to walk and run and has regained most of his urinary and fecal continence. He needs to go out at least twice but 3-4 times a day would be best. He currently is used to wearing belly bands to prevent any dribbling when his bladder is over full, but generally does not have urine incontinence issues. He will go to the door typically to let you know he needs to go out, but due to nerve damage cannot wait very long. I’m a disabled vet and with health issues, work, and housing limitations I struggle. It pains me to rehome him, but he’s a loving boy that deserves a better life than I can give.

Story
We adopted honey from a friend of ours and have had her for about 3 years. Honey is now 6 years old. She truly is a great dog, but due to our extremely busy schedules and living situation we are deciding to rehome Honey. We feel she deserves a better home with someone who will give her all the love and attention she deserves.

Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.
