Story
A GENTLE LOVEBUG:  Approx. 6 years old / Approx. 24 lbs. Hello – my name’s Mary Kate!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control and am so happy to be in their great care while I wait for my new family to find me.  The volunteers showed me lots of love and I returned the favor! I’m currently in a great foster home while I wait for my furever family to find me. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I haven’t met other dogs at Mostly Mutts yet, so let’s meet!  I just ignore other dogs that I see on walks with my foster.  / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  In the time I have been at the shelter, I have earned the reputation as a ‘sweet ol’ soul’ – just a calm and gentle girl with a friendly and loving nature.  I greet everyone with a great big smile – anticipating all the love that comes my way.  I was sweet for my first bath in my foster home.  / My energy level is 3-5. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I have good leash manners, and I already know the ‘sit’ command. I’ve also shown my good door etiquette, as well as how to accept friendly strangers without jumping on them.  I’m sure you can teach me lots more. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts.  In my foster home, I go in there sometimes during the day with the door open to relax.  I haven’t bothered with items that don’t belong to me, so my foster chooses not to close my crate door when she leaves.  I also sleep in bed with my foster and really enjoy that.  When my foster first leaves, I cry for a few minutes before settling down into my crate or on the couch. / I’m having some accidents in my foster home, but my foster is working with me on my potty skills and getting me used to a schedule.  Please continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule so that I can fully master my potty skills. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I’m quite affectionate and really enjoyed the rub down during my shelter bath.  I gave nice little groans of appreciation and sweet kisses!  True to my beagle nature, I enjoy using my sniffer to explore my surroundings so let’s go exploring together!  It helps that I love the car and going for rides, so let’s do that too. I prefer lying next to my foster mom when we’re on the couch, although I am warming up to my foster dad as well. / I can’t think of any dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I’ve just had a dental cleaning, so my mouth is fresh again!  I came in with some fur loss and itchy skin, likely from a flea allergy, so I’m getting medicated baths twice a week for a little while longer.  These can easily be done in my new home.  Also, I should be kept on a flea prevention to prevent this in the future. I am looking for a home where will be a much-loved member of the family!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  December 18, 2024, 7:48 am

Story
Winnie is an awesome pup. She is two years old and is a typical Beagle. Loves the outdoors and cannot get enough of squirrels. She does not bark inside and even though she is a little sassy, she is crate trained. I travel about 100 nights a year for work and it is really difficult to take care of her. We adopted her from a puppy mill in Atlanta and she has always had bad GI issues. The vet bills have stacked up and medication and prescription meds have not worked. The result of the GI issues is that she has bloody stools and diarrhea. She needs to be let out every 2 hours or so and if crated at night, if it is more than 6 or 7 hours, she will not wait till morning. She really needs an access to a yard or some property. Her energy levels and overall health seem to be unaffected and she is the sweetest little thing. Loves people and wants to lay beside you all day. I hate to rehome her but she needs more than we can give right now.

Story
Meet Mabel: The Total Package – Brains, Beauty, and Roly-Poly Fun!!  Looking for the ultimate combo of smart, stunning, and playful, roly-poly charm!? Meet Mabel! This little dynamo started her journey at animal control but quickly proved she’s a star in the making. Mabel is the definition of brains and beauty. She’s already mastered her name, crushed potty training (both outside and on pee pads), and sleeps like a dream in her kennel. She’s got a playful streak a mile wide—chasing toys, sneaking tail nibbles from her foster fur-siblings  (who are mostly okay with it), and living her best puppy life. But when the fun’s over, Mabel’s all about the snuggles, curling up for the sweetest naps. Hurry on over and apply for consideration to adopt at www.ruffdogrescue.org . Please note, we receive a large number of applications. We appreciate your patience as we complete our review processes. A personal interview, reference checks, meet and greet with pet, home visit and a solid vet history are required for adoption.  Load less    ##2245475##

Story
Skips is a five year old beagle with the traditional loud beagle howl. He follows his nose everywhere and so he would be best placed in a house with a yard. He does tend to be fearful and timid, but can be won over with lots of treats. Once you've earned his trust you can look forward to the best of cuddles. We're really looking to place Skips and Marty (the husky in the picture) together in the same home, but if we have to split them up, Skips would be best placed in a home with another smaller dog. It may take time to adjust, so we're looking for something transitional where we don't just drop him off and say goodbye. We truly want him to grow and love his new family. So if it takes a few weeks that's ok! We're also ok with an open adoption! haha Would love to see pics of him from time to time living his best life in his new home. ✔ Housetrained ✔ Knows commands "sit" "come" & "kennel up"

Story
Home for the Holidays - Reduced Adoption Fees if Adopted by January 10th!    Doxy is an eight year old, 17 pound, Beagle/Doxy mix. He was returned to AAU because his adopter was going into a senior living situation. He is a very sweet little dog. He does bark a lot, so he can not live in an apartment or condo. He is house trained, but he’s on Lasix (a fluid pill) for his heart condition. He can only be left for a few hours or so, depending on the time you gave the medication.    Speaking of his heart condition, Doxy does have rather advanced heart disease. He is on 2 other heart medications besides the Lasix. And I’ll add to his being left, that he has separation anxiety. He needs a home with another sweet dog. I would not crate him. I do have 2 personal dogs and I give them and Doxy the run of the house when I leave.    Doxy also has urinary crystals and must be on a special diet. Finally, he has Gallbladder disease for which he must take medication. Summing it up, he will be on a special diet and medication for the rest of his life. He would do best with a fenced yard because of his medication.   I know he sounds like a train wreck, but he’s a very good dog. He loves everyone and other dogs. He is not a fan of cats. Doxy is very attached to his people and smart! He picked up our routine quickly. He enjoys watching TV on the sofa.    Doxy is also a good watch dog. He spends much of his day “lounging”. He loves, loves, loves his evening leash walks. Honestly, you would never know he had any health issues when you meet him. I am retired and have a busy life. Doxy’s health issues have not interfered with my lifestyle. He has only added love to our household! An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online at http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms  For inquiries, email inquiry@angelsrescue.org Please be sure to like our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue. Doxy is a sweet and loving 9-year-old Beagle/Dachshund mix weighing in at 17 pounds. This charming little guy adores everyone he meets and gets along well with other dogs, though cats aren’t quite his cup of tea. What makes Doxy special:   Doxy has some medical needs, so he’s looking for a dedicated and compassionate -person to provide him with the care he deserves. He’ll need to stay on a special diet to prevent urinary crystals and will require lifelong medications for his heart and gallbladder. Despite these challenges, Doxy is full of life and love! His perfect home: --A fenced yard where he can easily go out.  He's potty trained but prefers going out every 4 - 5 hours. --A stay-at-home parent or someone with a flexible schedule to keep him company and help with his separation anxiety. Having another sweet dog in the home helps him feel secure, too! --A peaceful setting, as Doxy’s barky moments may not suit apartment or condo living.   What Doxy loves: --Evening leash walks—his absolute favorite activity! --Lounging during the day and snuggling on the sofa to watch TV with his family. --Being involved in family routines, as he’s a smart boy who quickly adapts to new schedules.   Though he’s a great watchdog and has some special needs, Doxy doesn’t let his medical issues slow him down. His foster mom, a busy retiree, says he has only brought love and joy into her home. Doxy is looking for someone as special as he is—someone who will give him the love and care he needs to thrive.           December 13, 2024, 7:20 am
