Sweet Willy came from a home where he and 9 other Beagles were chained to garbage cans their entire lives. Taken off the chains only when the owner hunted with them. Willy had the worst situation of them all, his garbage can was so small that her couldn't even stand up in it! His back was so sore when he arrived that it took him a week or so before he could comfortably run and play with the gang. He was chained up like that for 10 YEARS! Willy is the sweetest boy you will ever meet and just needs a home where he can live out his days with lots of love and good care. He is very healthy, heart worm negative, crate trained microchipped and ready for his forever home. Could that be you? Please give him a chance! PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION AND REQUIREMENTS FOR ADOPTION Pringles is currently in foster care in Houston, Tx, We ship our dogs with Mighty Mutt Shipping IF INTERESTED THERE IS AN APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE https://www.houstonshaggydogrescue.org/apply/ This sweet boy has had a rough life, he is approx 4 years old and 43 lbs.. we are not sure of his breed mix, but he may have some Beagle/lab in him.. he is a really nice dog, when we rescued him from the local shelter, he had been found dragging his back leg into a local business and they called animal control to pick him up, his left back leg was broken in several places and he had heart worms. we treated his heartworms according to the AHS recommendations but our Orthopedic Surgeon was unable to repair his leg as it was an old injury and had already set into place, so the only option was to amputate .. he hops around really well and is a lot happier now that he does not have to drag his leg around, he is house and crate trained and will run into his crate to sleep and will hang out in a doggie bed with the other dogs during the day..he is a bit of a Loner and doesn't like to play with the other dogs, but does well with them, he would rather hang out with a chew stick... so he would be a great companion for someone as an only dog or with a sweet laid back buddy.. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY IN FOSTER CARE IN HOUSTON, TX OUR RESCUE POLICY - It is our rescue policy for all our dogs that we require a home with experienced dog owners only and no children under that age of 8 years. WE REQUIRE AT LEAST TWO YEARS OF VET RECORDS ON YOUR CURRENT OR PAST DOG FOR OUR REVIEW. This handsome boy is 1-year-old Twix. This beagle/lab/pointer mix was surrendered to PAWS by his owner as family members developed allergies to his fur. Twix is a sweet boy who knows his sit and down commands and loves to meet new people. He has a lot of energy and can be a bit of a puller on the leash. But he is eager to please and should respond well to consistent training. He lived with an 11-year-old boy and was good with him, and he plays well with other dogs. Twix is housetrained and partially crate trained. Twix would do best in an active household where he can get lots of exercise. He will make an ideal hiking/jogging/swimming companion. Twix is neutered, microchipped and up to date on his vaccinations.

Freddie is a 4-year-old Beagle/Basset Hound mix who was surrendered to PAWS by his owner due to his high energy. Freddie is a very friendly guy who is happy to meet new people. He is good with other dogs and lived with one, but we are told he is not very interested in playing with them and prefers to explore on his own. Freddie can be a big digger (no leaving this guy alone in the yard!) and we are told he is quite the counter surfer. He will even open metal cans with his teeth to get to the contents. In spite of his mischievousness, however, Freddie is such a happy and fun boy, that you can't help but immediately fall in love. An active household would be a great fit for him. Freddie is neutered, microchipped and up to date on his vaccinations.

Sunny, as his name suggests, is a gorgeous, golden-colored, bright and beautiful 3 year old Beagle/Collie/Boxer mix who is 100% housebroken, non-destructive inside the home, and responsive to several commands, including sit, stay, down, and paw. He is much more of a peace-and-quiet kind of dude, than a chaos-and-confusion type of guy and will thrive in a home outside of the city. Unfamiliar dogs, skateboarders whizzing by, strangers in his face, can cause Sunny a little bit of anxiety, especially on leash. He can be reactive on a leash, but with a little practice and patience, he can likely be taught to settle down...but set him free in the dog park and he's totally cool with everything...and he'll even play and run with other dogs! C'mon, chase me, chase me! Sunny is extremely smart and food-motivated and is a pretty good listener, especially if he sees a treat in your hand. This active boy loves toys, going for walks, and trips to the dog park. Wanna go for a car ride with him? Sunny will always be down for that. Vroom,vroom, let's go!
