Story
Mike is a 8 yr old Beagle mix, he was found as a stray in Puerto Rico with his brother Michael. He is a gentle senior boy who has been with us for quite some time. He is a shy guy, but in time he does warm up, and that in its self is really rewarding. He does find comfort in the company of his brother Michael. Mike enjoys walks, and playtime in the yard. He does require a fish only diet as he has food allergies. He and his is brother Michael are a bonded pair, so they will be required to be adopted out together. The ideal home for these bonded brothers is one where they will be the only pet in the home, no cats. And a fenced in yard would be most suitable. For more information on Mike, call AWS at 860-354-1350 email animalwelfare.socty@snet.net or visit our website aws-shelter.org for a pre adopt application. Adoption fees for Dogs (8yrs and up) is $150 Adult Dogs is $400 and Puppies under a year is $500 .

Story
Bagel the Beagle came to AATDR from a family that couldn't care for him anymore. He's a handsome boy who needs to know he's safe after a lot of changes in his recent life. That takes a little bit (only a little bit) of time. Once you're his person, he's a real cuddle-bug and you'll have a loyal and true friend for life. Bagel does need to be an only pet. He'll do best in a quiet, adult home. His idea of heaven is a securely fenced yard so he can wander around and use his beagle nose. If you live in CT and especially if you have experience with beagles or other hunting breed dogs, please consider adding Bagel the Beagle to your family!

Story
Calling beagle lovers!! This guy is a heart stealer as soon as you meet him! Amos was seen for days hungry and cold in the edge of the woods. Unfortunately there were two deceased dogs he was staying near. He was loyal but so sad and hungry. A Good Samaritan got him to CPR and this guy was immediately grateful for a full tummy, petting and cats and dogs to play with at his foster home. What a charmer!!! We wish he could talk and share who abandoned him but rescue sees great dogs like him in this situation daily. He will make a wonderful pet for a family or a person. He does love playmates. He is crate trained, does well on a leash and friendly to all! This boy will be a great family member! Amos is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. All dogs 6 month + receive a Proheart 6 injection at the time of their heartworm test. This provides heartworm prevention for 6 months from the time of that injection. This dog has tested ****** for heartworms. The adoption fee is $450 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get a confirmation. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.

Story
Frank, he’s an absolute angel, he will melt your heart. Frank was adored by his owner who recently passed away. We promised the family we would find Frank the best home, where he will be loved and spoiled. Frank loves to fall asleep on your lap, especially if back scratches are involved. He is good with other dogs, and make friends with every new dog he meets. He adores attention and will follow you everywhere you go, he misses having a constant best friend. He is great with children, with his sweet gentle personality and dash of shenanigans he will keep you laughing and smiling all day. Frank is housetrained, crate and leash trained- he’s just about perfect. The only thing Frank is missing is a family to call his own. Frankie the Lovebug is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. All dogs 6 month + receive a Proheart 6 injection at the time of their heartworm test. This provides heartworm prevention for 6 months from the time of that injection. The adoption fee is $500 which includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccinations, flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, and the mandatory CT HB 5368 fee. This dog tested *** for heartworms. Visit our website to see our weekend Events here! Pups with the designated “meet me” next to their names are in CT and ready to attend adoption events. Please check with your adoption coordinator if you are interested in a specific dog prior to coming to an event, as a dog's availability to attend can change at any time. We can not guarantee approval on site at the events, so we recommend applying ahead of time. You can apply at the event, but the application process may not be able to be completed the same day. If you are not pre-approved, you are still welcome to come and meet pup’s at the event!
