Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Shortcake (GA) is a female Basset/Hound mix estimated to be 6 years old at the time of intake in July 2024. Shortcake is up to date on vaccines and is microchipped. She will be spayed prior to joining her forever home unless there is a medical reason why it has not yet been completed (in which case RDR NYC will work with the adopter to ensure this is done at the appropriate time). Shortcake is good with people, other dogs and even cats. We don't know what Shortcake's life was like that landed her in a shelter suffering with some untreated medical issues. Fortunately, Shortcake was pulled out of the shelter so she could receive the medical care she required and when we received a request to provide that medical care to Shortcake, of course we said YES! Shortcake's medical issues have been treated and this adorable girl is ready to start her life over with her forever family. Shortcake is sweet (of course!). She is quite a chunky girl and is on a weight loss regimen. Her joints are a bit squeaky, but she's on an arthritis supplement as well. Shortcake is literally one of the easiest going dogs ever and even a little person could walk her easily! Shortcake is on a special food as she cannot have chicken. If you would like some Shortcake in your household, please apply online to adopt Shortcake (GA) at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org.  Given technical constraints on this database, this pet's location may not be as listed here. We can, however, provide transport support for pets in foster at a considerable distance from the adopter.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 7, 2024, 1:36 am

Story
Ralphie's basic bio is below, but we maintain more detailed information about each of our animals on our website, which is also always up to date with animals removed immediately once they are adopted. Please visit Ralphie's page on our site (https://www.muddypawsrescue.org/adoptable?dog=008239) to learn even more about Ralphie! Additionally, please note that the breed listed for Ralphie is just our best guess based on the dog's physical features. We cannot make any guarantees about the accuracy of our guesses. PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO VOLUME, WE ARE GENERALLY UNABLE TO RESPOND TO INQUIRIES MADE USING THE 'ASK ABOUT ME' BUTTON. Please reach out to us directly using the contact information on our website: www.muddypawsrescue.org. Ralphie is very friendly and is also just beginning to come out of his shell and show us pieces of his unique personality. He's confident, especially considering how many things appear to be new to him. Ralphie did not seem to be familiar with any commands or words but within 24 hours he mastered "sit," so he definitely has lots of potential to be a well-trained good boy. Ralphie is excitable, as 1-year-olds usually are, especially on walks and when he spots another dog, someone running, or something new. At home he's just beginning to learn that he can politely ask to play, cuddle, and go outside for the bathroom. He loves walks and being outside, belly rubs on the couch, and looking out the window. He's also comfortable being independent and taking a snooze in a place near us but where he can be left in peace. So far, Ralphie's learning that the world has more and better things to offer than what he's seen so far and he's loving it. Did I mention that his tiny legs and disproportionately large head are irresistible?

Story
Bagel is a stumpy, little guy with a lot of personality & needs a gentle hand and a patient person that can bring the best out in him. He is housetrained and once you win him over with treats, he’s your best friend. Hasn’t been socialize much and does good with male humans that he was used to caring for him. Good with other dogs and would most likely learn the ropes from another pup. Isn’t leashed trained and would do better with a harness. Looking for his forever home to live his life with many years of happiness. Bagel Is spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, treated for all of the intestinal parasites, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Because intestinal parasites are cyclical, your puppy may need additional treatment once you get him/her home. This is common and nothing to be alarmed about. Puppies and dogs need to be treated periodically for parasites throughout their entire lives. Visit our website to see our weekend Events here! Pups with the designated “meet me” next to their names are in CT and ready to attend adoption events. Please check with your adoption coordinator if you are interested in a specific dog prior to coming to an event, as a dog's availability to attend can change at any time. We can not guarantee approval on site at the events, so we recommend applying ahead of time. You can apply at the event, but the application process may not be able to be completed the same day. If you are not pre-approved, you are still welcome to come and meet pup’s at the event! The adoption fee is $600 which includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccinations, flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, and the mandatory CT HB 5368 fee. More and more of our adopters are having fun with DNA tests on their pups. You might ask yourself why our breed guess is varying degrees of difference from the DNA tests. Most of our puppies are rescued from high kill shelters or other abandonment situations and we have no info on parents. When we rescue puppies that have no background info, we make our very best educated guess as to breed mix and age. Our guesstimate comes from years and years and years of animal welfare work and training, but our guesses won't always agree with your vet, your neighbor, your DNA test, etc. The most important thing to know about your puppy's breed mix is that most likely he/she is a Super Lovable Mutt made of many many many different breeds. If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at the Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get an automatically generated confirmation email. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.

Sugar was surrendered because after taking her home her owner realized that adding another dog was a bad idea. Luckily we were contacted about helping to find her a new family. Yes, Sugar lives up to her name. Sugar is very snuggly and sweet. She is also very playful as puppies are, and she gets along with people & other dogs. We do not know what she thinks of cats. Story
Meet Mister: A Shy Soul with a Heart Full of Love Are you ready to open your heart to a truly special companion? Mister is a gentle, shy dog looking for a patient and understanding family to help him shine. Mister is a sensitive soul who works well in a calm, low-stress environment. He may initially feel fearful or unsure, but with some space and time to settle in, he’ll start to show you warmth and affection. He’ll begin to bond with you in his particular way. His love is quiet, but it’s deep and genuine. Mister does well with children and cats, and will do best with a canine buddy in his forever home. He is gentle with children and doesn't mind hanging out with cats around him. He is respectful of their space. His calm demeanor makes him a great companion. He’ll quietly observe before deciding to join in on the fun, and once he’s comfortable, he'll be by your side. Patience is key with Mister. He’s not the type to rush into things, but once he trusts you, he’ll show you loyalty and affection in his way. He isn’t the type to jump into your lap for snuggles right away, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a lot of love to give. He’s got his unique way of showing affection – a gentle gaze, a soft nudge, or a quiet presence beside you. When he’s ready, you’ll know it, and he’ll find his unique way to express how much he cares. Mister is looking for an experienced, patient family who will accept him for who he is and give him the time he needs to flourish. He may not be the dog who immediately leaps into your arms, but he’ll be the one who sits beside you, offering quiet, unwavering support. If you’re looking for a calm and gentle companion, and you are willing to show him that he’s safe, loved, and home, Mister is the dog for you. If you are interested in meeting Mister, be sure to complete an application on line. If you are interested in this dog, please submit an application directly to our website at www.ny-petrescue.org. Story
Looking for love? So are Peter Pan and his girlfriend Tinkerbell, and they are looking for a forever home together. As we watch them interact, we’ve seen that they have formed a beautiful friendship and are the best of friends. Peter Pan is a sweet, loving guy…a typical Beagle, who’s not afraid to let you know what’s on his mind. Tinkerbell is a very pretty, petite, super sweet little girl. We would like their forever home to adopt both dogs so that they can continue the beautiful friendship they now enjoy. In some ways having two dogs is easier because they keep each other company. Be sure to complete an application on line and come to our Meet & Greet Saturday 11:30-1:30.
