Artemis is my name. But, my friends call me Artie. I am a 5 1/2 year old Bassett Hound who recently came to the shelter due to my loving human passing away. I was unsure and a little confused at first with my new surroundings. But, it didn`t take long for the staff and I to become best of friends. A few things that I enjoy include snacks, butt scratches and walks along the perimeter of the shelter. My favorite game is called `what`s that smell`. I am a natural at this. With ears like mine I have the potential to be a great listener without passing judgement. But will make sure I am heard when I have something to say with my Woo Woo Wait a minute comment. The staff is learning more and more about me with each passing day. I am a bit dominant and like to have my way....so a home without children under 12 would be a better fit for me...and no other dogs. Oh... I am not a fan of cats...so definitely a no cat household for me. A fenced yard would be excellent as I like to follow my nose and be your one and only!!!

Kyla might just be your perfect match! 🥰 This adorable 1-year-old Basset Hound mix weighs in at a sturdy 52 lbs and has a heart full of love to share. 💗 Kyla can be a little shy when meeting new people, but don’t let that fool you – once she warms up, she’s a total love bug who adores snuggling on the couch with her favorite humans. She’s an easygoing girl who gets along well with other dogs but prefers to keep her food and high-value treats to herself (understandable, right?). Due to this she would do best as the only pet in her home. ✨ The Kyla Highlights: • Potty trained like a champ! 💪🏼 • Making great progress on her crate training. • Loves cuddles, hanging out with her people, and showing off her gentle, sweet personality. ☺️ • Friendly with other dogs – just needs some boundaries around mealtime. 🐶 If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’ll happily be your couch buddy and fill your home with love, Kyla is ready to meet you! 🐾💜
