Meet Casper Casper is a handsome boy. He was surrendered when his foster parents could no longer keep him. He is a great young pup. Casper is about 1 – 1.5 years old. Our vet thinks he is a Basset/Shar Pei mix. He is a low-rider kind of dog with a beautiful cream-colored coat and gorgeous blue eyes. He weighs between 40 and 45 lbs. Casper LOVES being with people. He doesn’t like being by himself. He gives doggie kisses, happy tail wags and will crawl into your lap if he has a chance. He loves other dogs too. Every day he greets his doggie neighbors when he has yard time. He can get spooked easily though and will need a containment fenced yard to keep him safe. He’d do well with another dog in the home to play with and keep him company. Casper walks easily on a leash and is a good leash walker. If he gets spooked though, he tries to bolt and could be a flight risk. Nothing that two hands, a sturdy harness and/or a fenced yard can’t cure though. Casper does not like cats and should be in a home with no cats. Casper is a sweet, friendly, affectionate, smart, curious, and happy boy. He is also housetrained – bonus! He has impeccable manners. This boy is a doll. We’ve fallen in love with his easy-going and loving ways. We love seeing him interact with other dogs. He seems so happy and carefree when he’s running around saying hi. Casper would like to be your couch snuggle buddy and ride along dog if given the chance. This boy has it all. If you are looking for a great medium sized pup to welcome to your heart and home, Casper may be the one. Please email our shelter (smithgallhumanesociety@windstream.net) to make sure we received your application. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out-of-state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship, nor do we transport them to their new homes. A SWEET & PLAYFUL FRIEND:  Approx. 1 year old / Approx. 38 lbs. Hi, my name’s Marshall!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, and I am spending my days soaking up the love and attention from the volunteers here.  I’ve heard them say that I will be getting a new home with a family to love.  That sure makes me happy!  I’m ready for my loving home, so plan to come meet me soon!  I’m currently in the prison/foster training program off-site and learning a lot!  Please inquire at 770-272-6888 to find out when I’m available to meet. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I recently met some other dogs at Mostly Mutts and liked them, so – if you have a nice doggie at home already, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.    • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I am a sweet young guy who still has a good bit of puppy energy in me.  Though I can be an excited little ankle nibbler on my walks right now, I was calm and wonderful for my bath.  The photographer said I was ‘happy and handsome’ for my photo session.  Check out my pics, and I bet you will agree!  I can’t wait to be someone’s affectionate and playful companion! / Energy level: 4-6.      • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have already mastered the ‘sit’ command and I look forward to learning more.  Let's continue my training together with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs!  I’m treat motivated, so learning some additional commands and polishing up on my leash walking skills should be fun – and yummy! / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / My potty habits have been good on the shelter schedule, so hopefully that will be the case in my new home, too.     • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love to be with my people and will ‘thank’ you with sweet kisses.  Toys are awesome, and I am ready to play!  Keep a treat or two handy, and you will get my undivided attention.  Yum! / I can’t think of any dislikes, though like all dogs, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I am looking for a great home with a loving family for life!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  May 13, 2026, 10:04 am
