Story
This is SIMBA. He has an appt @ the Irving Animal Shelter (they euthanize) THIS WEDNESDAY at 1pm. His owners surrendered him to me after having him since he was a puppy bc no one is around enough to take proper care of him, and the children often let him out the front door, where he has nearly been hit by cars on multiple occasions. They had resorted to keeping him in the backyard but no one was paying attention to him. He is barely a year old and is up-to-date on his shots. He is extremely attentive and easily trained, and very loving and affectionate. Needs play time and people time. He is also crate trained and has a large wire crate, proper harness/leash. Doesn't hardly bark, isn't fearful but can be cautious with new people until he feels secure. Understands commands and is surprisingly obedient for a dog who hasn't been worked with much. Likes to play and cuddle. I took him but my dog is too stressed, so he is staying temporarily with a friend until WEDNESDAY02/05. 1 Y/O, 40lbs.

Story
I named this handsome fellow Spirit because he`s definitely a free spirit. He was brought to the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 11/4 as a stray. Spirit is approx 2 years old and weighs 65 pounds. Though listed as a Husky, when checking with my Dog Scanner app I note that he is listed as having Akita and Korean Jindo Dog in his breed mix with perhaps some Canaan Dog thrown in for good measure. Spirit is a spunky high energy dog that can be a bit restless. It was raining outside so I brought him in inside to do his eval. He made it clear by whining and pacing that he did not like the confined space so i took him back outside where he was more cooperative. Spirit walks well on a leash. He may be house trained as he did his business outside. He knows the sit command, loves treats and takes them quite nicely. He is playful and loves quaky toys. He is friendly and has a pleasant nature. Spirit is ok with being petted but he is a fellow who has places to go, people to see and things to do so you have to catch him between all those activities to give him some loving.

Story
This high-spirited youngster is Zane. He arrived on 2/4 at the Mesquite Animal Shelter as a stray. He weighs 48 pounds and is about one year old. My Dog Scanner app suggests the following possibilities in his breed mix: Jindo, Shiba Inu and Siberian Husky. He is an “on the go” kind of guy with places to go, people to see and things to do. He has a real zest for living and an enthusiastic outlook on life. He is a fun-loving, high energy pup that would be perfect for a person or family that have an active lifestyle. I can just see him accompanying his new family on a camping trip, walks in a local park, or on early morning jogs! He walks well on a leash and is possibly housetrained as he pottied outside. He is crazy about toys and tennis balls and very playful. He is friendly and was perfectly good with me petting him…once he took a break from playtime that is. This handsome boy with one brown eye and one blue eye, has been well cared for but will need a new home if his people don’t show up. I took him outside to potty, and afterwards he wanted to immediately come back indoors, indicating to me that he has no interest in being a backyard dog. He will need to be brushed on a regular basis. Will you consider whether you can help Zane out of the shelter and on the way to his forever home?
