This delightfully charming youngster is Dolly, listed as a Basenji mix that was brought to the Mesquite Animal Shelter as a stray on 12/2. She is approximately 8 months old and weighs 29 pounds. Anyone looking for a young, fun-loving, on-the-go, lively, active spunky pup will want to consider Dolly. She has lots of puppy energy and behavior. She is playful and loves toys. In the room in which I did her eval, she went back and forth to the toy box to collect yet another toy to play with entertaining herself, and whoever was watching. She walks nicely on a leash and she is such a friendly, sweet natured girl. When I walked her through the lobby, she wanted to stop and greet every person with a tail wag and big smile! It wouldn’t take long spending time with this youngster to fall head over heels in love! She would doubtless do well with a family with well behaved children who would treat her with respect. She will need daily playtime, enrichment, and exercise. However, she must live inside with her family in order to have the benefit of forming an attachment.

Meet Coco! She is a 1 1/2 yr old Bensenji/American Pitbull mix that weighs 56lbs. She was an owner surrender on 12/12 to the Mesquite Animal Shelter. Reason for surrender was unwanted. Coco is stunning! She has been well cared for, fur is clean and soft and does appear to be housetrained. She does walk pretty strongly on a leash, but does take treats gently. She enjoys being petted and put her hands in my lap to get close to give kisses. All the noises in the shelter does make her uncomfortable. She didn`t show any interest in the other dogs barking at her, but we do ask if you have another dog in the home to ask the shelter for a dog test. She hopes to find her final loving family that will provide her with a secured backyard to play in, but will live indoors where she can stay close to her human companions. She is a treasure! Please come meet Coco!
