Here's what the humans have to say about me:
*UPDATE 7/27/07
Roxie has been in her foster home now for 10 days. Showering Roxie with plenty of human contact in the home setting, has drastically transformed Roxie from a body blocking hyped up pooch to a fantastic, home oriented little pooch. Her transition has been amazing. She hasn't thrown one body block. She knows "sit" and is learning to not jump on people, which she sometimes does initially when someone comes to visit. When visitors stop in, she is so excited her little butt shakes so fast she can hardly walk. Her energy level isn't over the top as she exhibited at doggie daycare, though she loves to play with toys...her most favorite games are tug-of-war and catch. She is housebroken. She loves to ride in the car. If you have a car, she's ready to roll!
Roxie is very smart. In just 3 dyas time, she had been trained to go in the other room or lay on the floor away from the table, at dinner time. She isn't aggressive toward other dogs as she is now living with her 28 lb., 9 year old foster brother. She is a real pleasure. In her foster home she is most comfortable sleeping on an afghan on the floor. She doesn't jump on the furniture at all, nor does she touch anything on the end tables. She is fine with children as her foster mom babysits a toddler one day a week. The most she's done is lick the toddler's face when walking by. She is leash trained, however wants to play with every dog and every person who walks by. She is turning into a bit of a lapdog. When you pet her and stop, she moves closer to you for more petting. When you pet her and stop again, she moves even closer. When you repeat this one more time, she'll either sit on your feet or if you're on the floor, lay across your lap for more petitng. She is such a sweetie.
Roxie is small in stature and has gained 4 well placed pounds. She now weighs 49 lbs. There is a discrepancy regarding Roxie's age. A veterinary student visiting the foster home, put Roxie's age at 5 or 6. When taken to the vet that NJ Boxer Rescue uses, he steadfastly said Roxie is 5 years old, not at all 8 years old as indicated by her previous records.
. Roxie would love to be adopted by a family with children who would like to play tug-of-war and catch with her. Roxie would certainly give any family a lot of love. She is such a joy and a pleasure, any family would be proud to have this pleasant, easy going little girl as a member.

Roxie has been at the doggie day care for about a month now. She is doing well and has calmed down a lot playing with all the other dogs. When I saw her today, she immediately came up to me and gave me great big kisses and a back scratch. She is such a sweetie! She still needs a forever home – Roxie could thrive even more if she had human interaction. Everybody loves her and she has never given anybody any problems at the doggie day care. Please consider giving her a human home that Roxie deserves – she has so much to give!
Roxie came to us from a home with two children who unfortunately had to give her up due to a divorce. She is small, about 45 lbs., but full of love and energy. When you meet Roxie, she will slather you with boxer kisses endlessly! She jumps, twists, and turns – all full of joy. Although she is an older dog, she acts like a puppy!
Roxie needs some disciplining still but will come possibly from a home who will pay attention to her and lavish love on her. She is completely housebroken, has a ravenous appetite, boundless energy, and is well socialized. In fact, she has some much energy, she has a tendency to run away if left off-leash and not in a fenced yard.
The perfect family for Roxie would be one with older and sturdier kids as she does jump and throws boxer body-blocks, who will not ignore her, gives her toys and a soft bed, and a fenced yard. If you think you are the perfect family for her, please fill out an adoption application.
