Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Looking for a adorable girl with a sunny attitude that will put a smile on your face every day? Meet Shadow! She’s sweet and smart and filled to the brim with zest and enthusiasm for life. Combined with her winning smile, flashy, crisp tricoloring, and unbelievably expressive ears, Shadow is pretty much irresistible!
Originally owned by an older person who surrendered her to a shelter due to her energy level, Shadow is ready to find a family of her own and take on life! This three year old purebred is indeed a lively lass and would love to have a home where she could go on lots and lots of outdoor adventures. A true Colorado girl, Shadow enjoys hiking, running, playing in the snow, and being outdoors with her people whenever possible. She really enjoys visiting new places and all the smells they have to offer. Once she makes it back home, she just wants to snuggle! Shadow loves nothing more than getting some love and attention - she soaks it up like a sponge – and she even gives very sweet hugs! And it’s not just humans that make her heart sing. Shadow gets along with other dogs, too, and loves, loves, LOVES to play with her canine foster sibling all day long! She can be a little bit of a pest about it at times, because she has so much energy, and she can be herdy when meeting new dogs. She will do best with forgiving, agreeable canine buddies who will be tolerant of her intense desire to play. Shadow doesn’t seem too interested in toys so far, there are just too many other things to pay attention to! She does love to chew on bones, and having lots of appropriate chew toys around has helped her not chew on the things she isn’t supposed to. She will do best in a home with no or dog-savvy cats only. Shadow is very much a typical young BC, with a high energy level, and will be happiest in a home that can give her a very good chunk of physical and mental stimulation daily.
This super bright young lady is a willing and eager student and will thrive in the hands of people who can offer her not only an education, but boundaries and guidelines to live by...it seems she did not have much in the way of either in her past life. She is almost housetrained and starting to learn about the crate. She is OK walking on a leash and knows a few basic commands. Shadow can be a bit protective of her food bowl and she is working very hard on getting less worried about this at her foster home, but this is something she will need continued help with. She can also be mouthy when handled closely. Therefore, she is not at all suitable to a home with children. Shadow will continue to blossom in a home where she can get lots of exercise, guidance, and training, and the sky is the limit as to what this girl can accomplish!
Shadow is a wonderful girl with many of the traits we love about the breed: curious, eager to learn, bright, athletic, energetic, and ready for action! In the right hands, this eye-catching lass is sure to develop into a superstar. If you are looking for a young BC filled to the brim with potential AND character, Shadow may be the one for you!
Shadow is spayed, fully vaccinated and living in a loving foster home near Loveland, CO.
