My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Allie! With a babydoll face, an adorable white snip on her nose, and heartmelting chocolate eyes, Allie is just about as cute as can be. She's also a lively little cuddlebug with many of the traits we love about the breed - curious, sensitive, athletic, and very willing to learn, too. Allie Gator is a darling, delightful young lass eager to find a family to call her own!

Just 2 years old, Allie was surrendered because the other dog in the family was allegedly pretty ugly to her - although it sounds like her humans were not much better. Nonetheless, Allie moved into her foster home with exuberant glee and is making up for lost time!! She loves attention from her human friends, can worm her way into your lap in the blink of an eye, and races to her people faster than any other to deliver a kiss!! Allie is quick to warm up to some new people, especially women, but is a little tentative with new men. Like many BCs, children and lots of noise and social hubbub really overwhelm this sensitive girl, so a quieter, kid-free household would be best for Miss A. The more canine company, however, the better - Allie looooves other dogs, especially if they are playful, and gets along really well with her doggy friends. She is super playful, loves to tug, wrestle, and play chase games with other dogs, and will romp for hours on end with her canine foster siblings. She loves squeaky toys but prefers herding the fetchers in her foster home rather than fetching herself, and also shows interest in horses. Cats are an unknown. Allie also enjoys hiking, running, and is learning to swim - she is physically confident, jumped into the lake first time out, even if she splashed about with her front legs and looked like a total dork! She will make a great active companion or agility candidate. Overall she's a moderate energy girl who, after a good chunk of daily exercise, is content to stretch out along with back of the couch (yes, the back of the couch!!) like a cat and watch with world go by.

Despite her docked tail (why, why, why???!?!?), Allie seems very much a Border Collie, and has the sensitivity and desire to learn so typical of the breed, ready to take on anything you want to teach her! Given her nature, reward-based, gentle positive reinforcement training tactics will be the best method to use with Allie. She's already housetrained, familiar with a few of the basics, and walks well on a leash. She also sticks close off leash and comes when called pretty well. Allie will thrive with adopters who can help build her confidence with new people, as well as continue her basic manners
education. Given her responsiveness, Allie is a delight to train and the sky is the limit as to what this bright girl can learn!

All in all, Allie is a wonderful young BC teeming with both character and potential. If you are looking for a best friend to share your active life with, who loves to romp and play some every day as well as share a good snuggle, Allie Gator may be the girl for you!

Allie is spayed and fully vetted and living in a loving foster home near Colorado Springs, CO.
