My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sleek and silky, Luna is a gorgeous 8-month-old panther, who is a fiend for Churu. For sure, the fastest way to Luna’s heart is through his tummy! Not only does he love Churu, but he’ll greet you with excited “yeeps!” and happy circling at mealtime. Once the bowl is empty, there’ll be some after-meal grooming before he settles in on a windowsill for some gazing out the window. He’s a classic! And as classics kittens do, Wrestlemania between Luna and his brother, Mars, is not to be missed. It really is true that two cats are better than one! Luna will also impress you with his speed, zipping down the hallway floor chasing after spring toys and felt mice, even crumpled paper. These bonded brothers love playtime together as well as cat-napping curled up together and making sure each other is well groomed.

Luna and Mars were rescued at about four months old, so they were very shy when they first came inside, having had very little exposure to humans prior to that. Through socialization exercises and time around humans, they have both come a long way, but Luna remains more shy than Mars. This, however, gives you the opportunity to make a huge difference in Luna’s life! Plus Luna is always watching his brother, Mars, seek out affection and get pets from his foster, so we’re confident that Luna will dive in fully with time like Mars has.

Luna is neutered, up-to-date on his FVRCP and rabies vaccines, negative for FeLV and FIV, and microchipped. He must be adopted to a home with his brother, Mars.

Additional adoption info

Our cats are almost all in foster homes. Upon approval of your application (including reference check), we will connect you with the foster parent(s) so that you can meet the kitty you're interested in. If it's a good fit, we'll do a home check for safety issues, and then process the paperwork so that you can officially adopt your new family member!

More about this rescue

We are a network of rescuers in Central Brooklyn (primarily in Bed Stuy, Ocean Hill, and Crown Heights) who help each other out. We do both TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) as well as the rescue and adoption of friendly cats and kittens that we find on the streets. We don't have a physical facility, so our cats are usually in foster homes, or staying with us in our own homes. Our goal is to find loving, permanent homes for all the cats we take off the street, and to make better lives for the ones we return there.
