My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Miss Maggie was surrendered to us after her elderly mom passed away, leaving her with no one to care for her.

Maggie is 6 years old and has spent her life as an indoor dog, so she is fully potty trained. She will tolerate being in a crate, but she does much better if she’s just left in a bedroom or living room when you have to run out.

She is gentle and loving and prefers to sleep right on the pillow next to you. She is excellent with other dogs and cats, even though she likes to bark at them when she sees them outside the window! We expect her to do well with children as well. She’s pretty low energy and is perfectly content hanging out in the couch all day.

Maggie is spayed, UTD on vaccines and deworming, HW negative, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $300.

More about this rescue

Working Hounds in the House started as an organization to help retired and decommissioned working hounds find a soft landing after a career in the field. Since starting, we rarely say no to an animal in need if we have the means to safely care for it, so we take many cat and kittens and and recently even rescued a pony!
