My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Moira Rose is the feline counterpart to the fictional former soap opera star she’s named after. She’s sweet and easy-going but takes her time adjusting to new surroundings. If you don’t see her right away, she’s likely hidden away – getting ready to make her grand entrance when she’s ready. Once she’s comfortable, Moira reveals her playful side, chasing lasers, small balls and toys, and of course, catnip! When she’s not entertaining herself (or you), she loves lounging on windowsills, watching the birds and squirrels. Her cat tree or cubby is her personal retreat – a luxurious suite for her mid-day naps. Moira has refined tastes when it comes to food – she prefers wet food with gravy and chunks but turns up her nose at pate. Kibble is acceptable, but she prefers to graze on it throughout the day, like she’s dining at a five-star buffet. While Moira isn’t one for laps, she’s a purr machine during head scratches and enjoys affection on her terms. Like any self-respecting tortoiseshell, she has a flair for drama and a knack for setting boundaries. If you stray too close to forbidden zones (no touching the belly or butt, thank you!), she’ll let you know with a gentle hiss or grumble. But know it’s all talk! Moira may do well with another friendly cat after a proper introduction. Still, we feel she will be just as happy as your one-and-only with someone home often to keep her company.

Much like her namesake, Moira Rose has faced her share of challenges. She was discovered abandoned in a park, caring for a kitten while she was pregnant. Despite her difficult past, Moira is a super sweet girl who is ready to find her forever home at last.

Moira is looking for a home that appreciates her unique charm and understands that beneath her tortitude lies a sweet, loyal companion. Could you be the one to provide this glamorous girl with the love and home she deserves?

More about this rescue

Home at Last Rescue (HALR) is a Registered Canadian Charity, that is 100% volunteer driven. Our goal is to rescue cats from substandard living conditions and give them the loving homes they deserve.

We provide medical care, emotional support and a loving environment while preparing them to find their forever homes. With no physical location, all of our cats and kittens reside in loving foster homes across the Greater Toronto Area until they are ready for adoption.

We receive no government funding and rely solely on adoption fees, donations and our fundraising efforts to support our initiatives. We believe there is a home for every cat and a cat for every home.
