My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This kitten is in foster care. Fill out the adoption application at www.mynewcat.org if interested in meeting him. He should be adopted with another kitten into a home with a cat friend.

Sporto is a future Special Forces Operator. From day one he performed chin-ups from ceiling of the crate, climbed fences and furniture, and raced at a gallop during playtime. He is very athletic and confident. He adores watching bird and squirrel videos—though only chaperoned as he gets excited, and as he gets bigger could knock over the TV. He’s always been at least a half pound bigger than his sisters and is sturdy.

He prefers to be held like a football—on your forearm and have the back of his neck scratched. He knows his name and routinely comes to hands for love and pets, raising his tail and trilling. He likes cozy, fluffy, fleece blankets for sleeping. He chooses to sleep in laps or on the couch with people when he is ready to crash. He’s gone through phases where he is super people oriented and then others gets easily distracted by anything that moves.

Silicone crayfish and fur balls are his current favorite toys though Da Bird and Da Bee, as well as tracked/no track balls also make his list. He will thunder through the house doing zoomies and will both chase or be chased depending on who wants to play in that moment. Tunnels and overhanging blankets are fun to race through and hide in. He watches the older boys and takes cues from them—so cats in your home should be willing to be shadowed and interactive. He is an attentive and enthusiastic coverer in the litter box so likely would benefit from a high-sided and large litter box. He likes cardboard scratchers and climbing cat tree/towers. He has a sixth sense about finding ladybugs and spiders roaming the ceiling—and also invisible ghosts that only he can spot…but they are fascinating…

He is curious and wants to explore so humans should be careful about doors and windows—he will go out them if given the opportunity. He’s been initially introduced to a harness and with patience and the proper training he may enjoy the role of adventurer.

He is a wet food aficionado and loves Weruva kitten chicken in both pate and shreds.

Origin story: born around Labor Day to a tiny, very smart, very sweet wild cat in a neighborhood easement. This was Doug's third known litter. We were finally able to trap her and these kittens at six weeks old. Doug has a lovely energy and an incredible mom to her previous litters—she’s a very skilled hunter. These little ones had a few health issues in the beginning, often seen in wild-born litters, but thrived very early with interventions.

In the foster home, they’ve all been exposed to loud noises and especially the vacuum cleaner. Sleep in an extra large wire crate at night with a litter box (which you could continue). They've been exposed to a gentle black lab (Hero, Marcella best potential dog cats). They've been raised with two resident brothers who are almost two years old, so are being taught cat manners. Litter box trained with Smart Cat clumping litter. Have been exposed to all textures of wet food and treats. During the day they have the run of the living areas—bedrooms and bathroom

Potential Kitten Combos:
High Octane adventurers: Hero and Sporto
Balanced energy: Marcella and Sporto, Marcella and Fey
Magical partners in crime: Fey and Hero
