Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Falcon is a beautiful red/white Border Collie who is part of the Lucky 13 rescued from a hoarding situation.
From what we know, a pack of dogs was running loose on the property and at times they would beat each other up pretty severely. When she was rescued, her back right leg was "locked up" and she didn't use much of it. We had a FHO surgery done on her to give her comfort and the mobility she needs. Each day she is putting more and more weight on her back leg.
Falcon is a very very sweet girl.....once she gains your trust. She is wary at first and doesn't necessarily like fast movement as she will scurry away. Once she does trust, she likes the attention, especially ear rubs and body rubs. She can easily fall asleep with the attention.
Falcon walks well on leash and enjoys her time outside while we are out there. I would say that she is pretty much house broken (not one accident since she has been here!)
We are not sure how she is with other dogs. She is being fostered with Easton and they share the same room but are separated by gates and also can go nose-to-nose at times. She is fine with him. We have not yet introduced her to others while she is recovering from the surgery. We suspect with the right match, she would enjoy a dog pal or could live alone and enjoy her person all to herself.
She is looking for a person or family (kids 12+) who understands the needs of a dog who has had a rough start and can focus on how to give her the space she needs to grow but gently teach her how to be a dog.
She has not been cat tested. Not suitable for a condo or apartment setting.
More to come as time progresses.
