Azumi is a beautiful, smart, inquisitive border collie mix, about 10 months old and 32 pounds. She won't get much bigger but we anticipate that she will fill out a bit more. She a very intelligent dog who is always thinking. She would love to be in an active family where she can use her mind and her intelligence and not be locked in a crate all day.
Azumi loves other dogs, loves cats, loves kids and loves meeting new people. She plays in the yard beautifully with the pack of dogs at the shelter who range in size from 5 pounds to 60 pounds! She is extremely loving and eagerly accepts cuddles, being picked up and cradled and smooches all over her face.
Azumi is learning her manners, we are working on "sit" and the word "no" when she counter surfs. Azumi is not a fan of the crate but she is very good loose in the shelter without supervision and often occupies her time by chewing on a toy or bone to pass the day, as long as we are careful to keep food and treats out of her sight.
She is very food motivated and wants to learn. Most of all she wants to be an active part of a family who appreciated how smart and loving she is.
Our adoption fee is $400 and unless otherwise stated all dogs and puppies have been spayed/neutered, 4DX tested(if age appropriate), Put on heartworm/flea/tick prevention, age appropriately vaccinated, dewormed, vet checked and flown from Puerto Rico. There is an application which is required for initial approval, with personal references, and vet references. We may require a home visit, each adoption is different. We are easy to work with, friendly and try to fit the right pet in the right situation!
