Here's what the humans have to say about me:
MEET BINX!
This fun, unique 8-year-old Sphynx was surrendered to City of Elderly Love due to him being stressed out by the other cats in his previous home which caused him to have some litter box issues. Binx ended up having to spend a lot of time by himself which wasn't fair to him. He's much happier in his low-stress foster home and hasn't had any further litter box issues. Now that Binx has been caught up on vet care and we've gotten to know his spunky personality, he's ready for his new home!
Binx may be a small cat but he has a tremendous personality! He loves people and will greet anyone that comes into the home. He is an intense cuddler and will immediately demand snuggles just by making eye contact with him. Binx has lived with dogs in the past and met a new dog while in foster care and loved to play with him and head bonk him while walking by. Binx has done well with older kids in foster care and loves to snuggle up with them. Despite having issues with a couple of the cats in his original home, we haven't seen negative reactions to other cats in foster care. We have a feeling that there were just too many big personalities in the home which clashed and caused stress. We do think he would be happiest being the only cat in his next home just because he is a higher energy cat (typical for his breed) and likes to command his family's attention. He isn't afraid to let you know when he's bored! He's a vocal guy who loves to play; his favorite toys being jingle balls and wand toys that he can chase and hunt. Sometimes Binx will even just walk around the house and entertain himself while talking up a storm.
Binx is a special cat, as he is hairless which puts him at a disadvantage when it comes to grooming. The Sphynx breed need help keeping themselves properly groomed with regular baths and ear wipes to help with oil buildup and to prevent blackheads. Binx is not a huge fan of bath time but its important to keep his skin healthy. He can be sensitive to lower temperatures and will often curl up under blankets though he doesn't seem to be a fan of wearing clothes. Binx does not travel well and gets car sick due to his nerves. Binx does seem to have a more sensitive stomach, especially recently while transitioning from his original home to foster care and vet visits. He is currently on Biome prescription diet to help him stay regular. Binx has been fully vetted since coming to us including a much needed dental cleaning. He's now on the hunt for a low-stress forever home with a family who will help him through the transition period. If you're looking for an absolute character of a cat who will keep you laughing, Binx is your man!
Binx is available for adoption through City of Elderly Love! He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. He is also FIV/FeLV negative. Interested in adopting him? Visit cityofelderlylove.org to complete an online adoption questionnaire or email us at info@cityofelderlylove.org!
