My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Precious and Bella are a pair of senior kitties who are looking for a home together. Unfortunately, they lost their home after their mom passed away. These two are mother (Precious) & daughter (Bella) and have been together their whole lives. Therefore, it is very important that they can find a home together.

Precious (aka Mama) has the saddest eyes. She's been having a bit of a tough time adjusting since her owner passed away. Momma is a little bit shy, but is very curious. She loves pets and head butting! She has an adorable habit of wobbling her head a little when she sees that pets are incoming. Precious is 11 years old and is healthy.

Bella has quite an angular face (similar to a Maine Coon) so sometimes she looks like she's grumpy, but she's a very sweet kitty. She is very chatty and will always come to you when she wants love. Bella really enjoys belly rubs! She is a bit more social than Mama, but both girls are very sweet. Bella is currently 9 years old and is in good health.

Both of these lovely ladies have spent time in the past with outdoor access, but are also content being indoors, as long as they have a window to watch the birds! They also adapt and learn schedules quickly. They love wet food and will be by your side when it's time for breakfast and dinner. Leaving crunchy food out is great too, as they only graze a little bit throughout the day.

Bella and Mama are currently in a foster home with other cats, and while they are starting to get used to them, the would prefer a home where it's just the two of them. They will slowly come to tolerate another cat or two if they are quiet cats that leave them to their own devices. Neither of the cats would enjoy a home with dogs or children.

Home Check

We will come visit your home to ensure that the environment is suitable for the pet in question, based on its needs.

Additional adoption info

Adopting a pet is a lifetime commitment and a big responsibility. Dogs can live 15 years or more, and cats can live 20+ years. Like people, each individual pet comes with its own set of baggage, needs, and personality traits. Because your new pet will depend on you to provide its basic needs, we need to be sure that you are educated and up to the challenge. Our adoption process allows us to ask you some questions about your home environment, your lifestyle, and your needs, expectations, and limitations. We want to be sure that your new pet is going to be just as happy in its new home as you are to have it there.
A Successful Adoption Process Includes the Following Steps:
To start the adoption process, please contact us at victoriapets@gmail.com and request an adoption application. Once it is completed, email it back to the same address and in the body of your email, please tell us about your home/family. If there is a particular pet that you're interested in, please indicate which. Our adoption team will contact those whose applications have the potential to be the best match with the pet(s) of interest to set up a visit supervised by the foster parent who can answer some of the questions you may have about the pet. You will not be able to take the pet home the day of the visit.
One of our volunteers will contact you within 72 hours of the visit and we will open a dialogue with you based on the information provided in your application. We will talk about your home and family, as well as your experience with pets. We will ask you to tell us about the kind of life and care you can offer to the adopted pet, and we will inform you about any health or behavioural issues that you should be aware of.
(For dogs only) Once an adoption is pending, we will come visit your home to ensure that the environment is suitable for the pet in question, based on its needs. We can advise you of modifications that could make the adoption more successful, such as fencing and other things you may not have thought about.
The adoption process generally takes several days, and this time line is intentional. It allows you time to think about your decision so that you can be sure that you are comfortable with the decision that you’ve made. Adoptions are never approved within 48 hours of the application being submitted.
Once we have successfully journeyed through the steps above, you can pick up your new friend to begin a wonderful life together!
Signing an adoption contract is a requirement for every pet that is adopted.
Please Read Before Applying to Adopt:
You must be 19 years of age or older to apply for one of our pets.
Please note that we do not adopt animals sight unseen and we do not ship animals. We do consider adoptions out of area but applicants are required to come & visit with the animals of interest before an adoption is completed.
