Irwin is a loving companion who has been our constant shadow since the day we first brought him home. He is an active dog who will require a relatively long walk and lots of stimulation in order to be completely calm, but when his needs are met he is truly a wonderful dog to have by your side.
He's highly intelligent and loves to learn, and would be great for anyone interested in dog training. He also has shown herding instincts, and might be able to be worked. Despite his high energy, he is easy to own and has never destroyed a single thing in our home when left alone.
Unfortunately, Irwin has had some issues with young children - especially when they do not provide him with space. This is a problem for us, as we have a 6 month old child that is getting ready to start exploring the world. While we would love to believe we can keep him and police every interaction, that isn't realistic. He needs a home with adults only, or with children/teens old enough to approach dogs gently.
