Meet Buddy! This handsome puppy is searching for a loving and patient family who will help him blossom into his full potential. Buddy, along with his 4 younger siblings, was rescued from a rural NC shelter just before Thanksgiving. The shelter believes he is a border collie, heeler, shepherd mix He’s a bit skittish, requiring a warm-up period to any new person, dog, or environment. Once comfortable, get ready for an affectionate and active companion who will stick to you like a shadow.

Buddy enjoys playing with his soccer ball, bouncing alongside it across the yard with joy as his ears flop up and down. You’ll also find this intelligent guy perfecting his sit, touch, and shake tricks. He whines to indicate his need to go outside and is learning how to use a talking button. He herds the trash bin and barks at anything out of place, proving that he's a natural-born helper. In his quiet moments, you’ll find Buddy nestled by your feet chewing on a bone.

Buddy may not be the best match for younger kids due to his puppy energy and timid nature, but he enjoys wrestling and playing tag with other dogs who can keep up with him.

While Buddy is a smart and eager learner, he will need a patient and understanding family who can provide him with consistent training and socialization. He had a rough start in life, but with the right guidance and training, he's ready to embark on a new adventure.

Adoption applications are being accepted for an early December adoption. He’ll have had age appropriate vaccines, microchipped and dewormer, and heartworm/flea prevention. He’ll be adopted with a neuter contract.
