Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Well, hi there, I'm Brodie! If you are looking for a loveable, agreeable, and easygoing sort of chap, I may be just the guy for you. I'm a dashingly cute, 40 pound, happy and bouncy 9 month old BC boy!!! But don't be fooled - I'm not the superactive always-on-the-go dynamo most 9 month olds are. I'm not particularly intense, either, for that matter, like SOME BCs. Instead, I'm pretty laid back, and find it important to step back and smell the roses every day. I enjoy lying at the feet of my people, romping with my annoying little BC foster sister, lying on your lap, laying in the grass in the shade... and did I mention being near humans?
Aaaah, yes....humans. Of these I cannot get enough!! I've never known a stranger and I just love to be with people. I follow my foster parents from room to room and just desperately want to be a part of everything my family does. Of course, being such a sweetheart, I get along with other dogs fabulously too - I love to play with them and am oh-so-patient with my rambunctious little foster sister - I even let her put my whole HEAD in her mouth while we’re wrestling!! I am learning how to play with toys and I know they are super fun, I just don't get what the humans mean when they say, "Bring it back!!" I maybe have the slightest bit of herding instinct but am too benevolent to bother. Although my herdy foster sister is trying to show me the ropes, it's not working. Really, I like to visit with the cats...if they run, I will trot after them for about 1 second and then I am done with that!! I certainly need a good bit of exercise every day but overall I am pretty mellow and have a great off switch in the house.
I came to WBCR from a shelter in Colorado where I found myself after wandering the streets. I could go on and on about my past, but let me tell you...life's too short for regrets or grudges!! Nobody had taken the time to teach me much before but since I arrived in rescue, but I am working on my potty training and I already crate pretty well. I also know how to sit, shake, stay and lay down (although not all at the same time)! I also walk pretty well on a leash and I loooove to go for car rides. Keep in mind I am still just a kid and Rome wasn't built in a day, though. I will need adopters willing to continue with my basic manners training and who will set consistent guidelines for what's expected of me, to help me grow up to be the great canine friend I know I can be!!
Hard to believe such a great dog ended up homeless, huh? Well, lemme tell ya...it happens all the time. As for me, given my happy go lucky ways, I am going to make a great companion for a lot of different kinds of homes. I'll be happiest in a home that can really, really involve me in everything they do, who will love on me all the time, and who will, of course, continue my education and take me on frequent adventures!! Another doggy pal would be the icing on the cake. If you think you might be the people for me, hurry up and send in an application, ‘cause I can't wait to find a home that will love me forever!! I’ve been neutered (youch!), vaccinated and fully vetted and am living in a great foster home near Fort Collins, CO. Hope to meet ya soon!
XOXO,
Brodie
