My story

Meet Canelo! This sweet hound-mix was found wandering a busy street in Houston before he was taken into our rescue. We were so very surprised at how well-behaved and healthy Canelo is. He is believed to be a mixture of hound and possibly boxer, as his lean body and structure suggest. We think Canelo is between 1-2 years old and still has many "puppy" qualities.
Canelo hasn't met a stranger and LOVES people! He tends to be a bit shy at first, but quickly warms up, especially after being offered a treat!
He walks well on a leash and loves visiting with other dogs on his daily walks.
Canelo is currently living in a foster home with two children and enjoys playing and snuggling with them both. Canelo is heartworm negative, is current on his vaccinations and is neutered.
Canelo is a typical "scent hound" and loves to follow scent trails. He loves searching for things as part of his playtime and makes a perfect companion for long walks and/or jogs.
If you are looking for a larger size dog who is active, energetic and will do best in a home who will provide both mental and physical activity, look no further than our very sweet and friendly Canelo.
