PLEASE scroll down and read the ENTIRE BIO. It is lengthy, but has ALL INFO we know. Emailing and asking for more info is only going to hold up your process and risk your chances of the dog you want being gone. MAC is in SALEM, Ohio. HE is fully vetted including: Neuter/rabies/Bordetella/parvo distemper vaccine/worming/heartworm lyme test/heartworm-flea prevent while in rescue. We do not ship dogs, we do not transport dogs, we do not hold dogs. You must be ready to adopt within 72 hours upon approval.
FULLY VETTED ADOPTION FEE is: $75
MAC 'S adoption fee is reduced to a senior fee of $75.00. All dogs ages 8 and over are fully vetted and available for $75.00, as we understand senior animals can require more care.
** PLEASE NOTE: Since we are a shelter, the majority of our dogs have not had the luxury of a foster home. As a result, what we post in reference to their behavior, temperament, likes/dislikes etc is only what we witness here and not in a home atmosphere.
Hi there! Sit back, put your feet up and grab a nice cool (or hot) beverage because I have quite a story to tell!! On July of 2020 I was part of a massive seizure of what was "SUPPOSED" to be a sanctuary for animals. Well, turns out it was NOT and we were all just kept in cages!! As a result, my bottom from teeth are ground down to nothing from me trying to get out of the cage for so many years. However, as you can see it does NOT stop me from eating!! The humane society stepped in after many years of neglect and got all of us out of there (over 200 animals!). I was initially adopted to a wonderful lady who became the Mom I had always hoped for!! Then, after a year she became ill and passed away...I was so very sad. I have now returned to the humane society and am ready for my new home! Here is a bit about me: I am very friendly but timid upon initial introductions which is due to my lack of socialization during my younger years. But I warm up quickly if you just ignore me and allow me to come to you at my own pace. Since I was never taught to share my things, I have what is called "resource guarding". Which means that my food and toys are just that....MINE. As a result, I would require a home with no other dogs or children. I would do best in an adult home that is on the calm side, you know...not a ton of visitors coming and going. I absolutely LOVE car rides and going on walks. I am potty trained, which seems like a big deal to you humans! I am a bit on the "chunky" side right now so a strict diet is needed for me to shed a few pounds, Due to me being "imprisoned" for the first 7 yrs of my life, I didn't receive any exercise and as a result my back legs are not a strong as they should be so daily joint supplements would be helpful. If you are looking for a boy that will be "glued" to your side I'm your guy. When I find my person, I am loyal as the day is long!
