My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Name: Grayce
Nicknames: Bat Girl, Snuggle Muffin
Breed: Boxer
Age: 1 Year
Weight: 42lbs.
Before OMD: Given away for free online due to allergies. A friend of the rescue intervened and got her safely to us.
Doppelganger: Harry Potter's Dobby
Best Feature: Those ears.
Energy Level: Consistently on 10. She's a baby Boxer, so...
Life Goal: To be a human barnacle. She has no problem stepping on her dog siblings to get to her humans.
Personal space: Huh?
Temperament: Silly. Friendly. Fun. Enthusiastic.
What we love most: Her huge personality wrapped up in her perfectly petite sized body, and topped off with her expressive, crooked bat ears.
What she loves most: Zooming. Boxer wrestling sessions. Backyard exploring. Digging holes. Escorting her foster mom to the kitchen, the bathroom, the bedroom, the garage. Sitting ON her human. Water!
Commands: Sit...sometimes.
Working on: Four on the floor. Reigning in her exuberance and excitement especially when meeting new people. Leash training. Gaining confidence with men (some guys make her nervous). Housebreaking.
Dogs: BIG yes to the playful, sturdy, tolerant kind.
Cats: Not yet tested, but we suspect she could live with a dog-savvy cat who can join in (or at least tolerate) some chasing and playing.
Kids: Yes. Sturdy, savvy kiddos only since she's still fine tuning her basic manners.
Housebroken: Getting there. She has made progress while in rescue, but accidents should be expected. She does well using a bell and would benefit from a fenced in yard and a trained dog sibling who can show her the ropes.
Crate Trained: Yes. A bit of initial protesting but she settles quickly.
Sleep Preferences: ON her human. This girl isn't about dog beds or crates at night. Adopters should be ready and willing to share their bed.
Ideal Home: Must have a yard for exploring, racing and creation of the occasional landscaping hazard.
Ideal People: Patient humans who will continue to work with her on basic training and housebreaking. A family who already has a resident, high energy, playful, sturdy dog. People should appreciate a dog who masquerades as a weighted blanket and escort and value her dedication / insistence on touching her person whenever possible.

Grayce is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative and microchipped. She is available for adoption to residents of CT and surrounding states. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application from omdrescue.org.
