Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Venus arrived at GGOH with her litter mates after their momma arrived here at GGOH and we found her to be pregnant.
Venus is one of our more challenging cats - she's shy and nervous around us humans but we know that she has it in her to be sweet and loving - it will just take time and patience. Due to her current social skills, our recommendation is that she not go to a home where there are young children - young ones would definitely not understand her. Over time, and once she is familiar with her new life and home, she may relinquish and be acceptable of being held (or may not), but we absolutely don't want her new life to start off on the wrong foot so please only inquire about her if you are okay with her personality type and can accept her for who she is. She's great with other cats and would make a wonderful companion to a perhaps lonely feline.
Also of mention is that Venus is one of our FIP kitten warriors - she battled the beast and won. We can give you a more detailed picture of what her treatment was when you visit but just let it be known, she has a long worry-free life ahead of her. We don't like to dwell on this aspect of her care too much, but we also like to be up-front about it as we're not the kind of rescue that withholds or hides information from our prospective adopters. Everything is laid on the table so you can make an informed decision.
Venus's DOB is 7/23/19.
As we've said, Venus is one of our more challenging cats and even though she's had a few bumps in the road, we 100% believe she is worthy of love and acceptance and know her special someone is out there somewhere - could it be you?
If you're interested in meeting Venus, we ask that you first visit our website to review our adoption process and requirements and then, to schedule an on-site appointment. www.ggohinc.com

More about this rescue
Established in 2003, we are a no-kill rescue/re-home program that takes in abandoned, homeless and unwanted animals. We work tirelessly to find new, permanent homes for our rescues. Our program's Director began this journey when our county's humane society was closed down.
A note from our Director:
"I have been a lifelong rescuer; all of my pets (currently, 10 dogs and 5 cats) are rescue animals. They mean the world to me and I want to help as many animals as I can while I am on this earth. Back in 2003, I gathered together many animal lovers in the area and we started our rescue efforts; we've continued to grow over time and are now operating as a 501c3 organization, which has helped us strengthen our efforts to save the animals. We want to see that no animal goes without love, shelter, food or a happy life. We work on educating the public about the overpopulation problem, we promote spay/neuter programs, and we do group tours at our facility to teach about the rescue re-home world. To get our youth community involved, we visit schools to teach about responsible pet ownership, animal abuse and neglect, and what they as an animal advocate can do to help prevent these tragedies. We are proud of what we do here at our rescue and we believe it is our job to protect those that speak another language and quite honestly, we just could not imagine a world without them. I invite you to join our efforts by becoming a sustainable monthly donor, a volunteer with our program or, simply to be another voice for the animals. Contact us today to find out how you can help."
