Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Looking for an easy going, mellow, sweet, loving boy? Meet Cade – a 2 year old male with one of the best personalities around. And who can’t love all those freckles?!
Cade came into rescue from a small town Nebraska shelter where he'd been sitting for more than 3 months before we were contacted about him. He was picked up as a stray so we know nothing about his history. Since coming into rescue, he has been nothing but a loveable, well-mannered fella. He’s a big boy – over 55 pounds – all the more of him to soak up the love!! Yes, Cade is a total love sponge, adores people of all sizes, and is happy to flop over onto his back for a belly rub from anyone willing. He’ll politely come up next to you and just stare when he wants to be petted, though if you ignore him too long he’ll nose your elbow. If we had a penny for all the kisses he has bestowed, we would be rich!
While Cade sure loves human companionship, he also gets along with all the dogs that have crossed his path, and can be really playful with some. Cats are pretty much beneath him, but he works hard at keeping the yard squirrel-free. He’ll even fetch for a bit, but not obsessively. We believe this boy to be purebred, and it showed when we tested him on livestock! Cade showed a lot of herding potential...but if it's not a sheep, he's not interested. Overall, however, we’d say Cade is a mellower BC. Like we mentioned, he is on the bigger side, has an absolutely show-stopping long, thick, rough coat, and an enormous, mile-wide grin.
Cade is fully housetrained, crate trained (though he is well-mannered enough he doesn’t need to be crated at night), knows all sorts of commands, and has a pretty good recall off-leash…call him and he’ll plop his butt on your toes! Cade does pull on leash, but does great with an Easy Walk no-pull harness. He needs some experience riding in a car - his preferred place is on the passenger’s seat, and he doesn’t care who is sitting there! Though this silly boy is mostly past the chewing puppy stage, Cade will occasionally chew on things. He cannot resist pillows or stuffed toys. He loves to pull blankets off of couches, and patio furniture cushions are also a favorite of his – he pulls them off the furniture and carries them out to the yard, where he will then lay on them. This boy surely loves the cushy life!
As you have probably guessed, Cade is quite a character. He is going to make a wonderful, lighthearted addition to some lucky family. Because he’s so well-adjusted, social, and agreeable, Cade is suitable to a lot of different homes. Wherever he ends up, we are sure Cade will prove to be a devoted, easygoing, and delightful companion.
Cade is neutered and fully vetted, and living in a loving foster home near Casper, WY.
