My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

River is a very playful, outgoing, happy-go-lucky black purebred/papered Labrador who is full of energy. She has a calm intelligence and should be easy to train. She already sits on command. She is very people oriented and a total lapdog who follows you everywhere. She loves water, playing fetch, chewing on toys, snuggling and hanging out with the family. Chewing is her favorite activity. This will last until she is about 2 years old, so she will need a lot of toys, bones, etc. and comes with her favorite toys upon adoption. River will need a very large yard with plenty of room to romp and play.

River is on the smaller side for a Labrador and will probably only weigh about 55-60 pounds full grown. She is probably a bit too rambunctious for a family with small children as she may knock them over. River was being trained for hunting by her original owner who relinquished her because he did not properly desensitize her to gun shots.

River is spayed, microchipped, deflead, dewormed and is up-to-date on her Rabies, DHPP-L, Bordetella, and Coronavirus vaccines. She has also had a fecal test and is negative for parasites. Potty training is going well. She never poops in the house but still occasionally has urine accidents. She is crate-trained for sleeping at night and for short periods of time during the day. She loves her crate and does not whine or bark unless she has been left for an excessive period of time or needs to potty. She was born on April 15, 2019 (8 months old on December 15).

Her adoption fee is $600 without her crate and $800 with her large plastic crate, which was purchased for over $300. Crate measurements are 32" wide, 48" deep and 35” tall. We do not recommend using wire crates because legs can become wedged between the bars possibly causing serious injury to the dog.

An application will be sent out to anyone who inquires. If you do not receive it, CHECK YOUR JUNKMAIL. Adoption fee is cash only.
