My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

JAX is a 1-year-old neutered male yellow lab. Jax weighs 55 pounds and is up to date on shots. This dog is approved for homes with children ages 10 and up.

Jax is still working on his fetch skills but has mastered being handsome and goofy! He is very gentle and loving. He wants to be with companions, both canine and human. Jax has excellent leash manners, loves walks and is learning to go for runs with his foster brother. Jax enjoys the outdoors and taking hikes. He loves to run around the yard and will need to go to a family with a physical fence. Jax needs a family who will not leave him alone for a long work day. He is used to being with other dogs and loves their company. After he gets the right amount of exercise, he settles down for a nap. This young boy has already proven that with the right amount of exercise and continued obedience training, he will be an amazing companion for someone who puts in the time. He comes with a complimentary 7-week Good Manners class at Peaceable Paws in Fairplay, MD.

Jax spent a week volunteering at an academy class at Peaceable Paws. He learned sit, down, polite leash walking, wait for my food, and leave it. All week, he heard “Good boy”, ”you're a doll”, “you're so sweet”, “someone will be lucky to have you". Tomorrow is graduation day and he gets to show off everything he learned all week. He is excited to find a forever home with a doggy buddy:)
