My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Margaret! Her previous owner has Alzheimer’s and is no longer able to care for her. I took her in this May with the hope of finding her a new forever home. As a kitten Margaret was severely malnourished, which stunted her growth - full grown she's only 4 pounds! She had been living in poor conditions for some time before I got her. She had widespread matting and had to be shaved, but don’t be afraid: the fur will grow back! Margaret may look kind of scary right now and a little like a stegosaurus, but she is a sweet, affectionate kitty. At first Margaret is a little shy and skittish but she’s quick to warm up to her loving, human companions. She was declawed in the front and back leaving her extremely clumsy for a cat. She has difficulty jumping up on high surfaces, like a bed, so the couch is her paradise. She will claim her own space a cushion away, or if she’s feeling affectionate, snuggled up on your lap. She loves attention but cuddles on her own terms. If you’re nearby she’ll be content. Margaret has spent her whole life in the company of other cats, but would most likely prefer to be the only 4-legged creature in the house. She tolerates friendly, docile cats but is scared of the more dominant ones. She's never been aggressive, rather she resorts to defensive behaviors like running away, hiding, making herself small, etc. To my knowledge, she's never been around dogs or young children. She would probably do best in a smaller, quiet home where she can lounge on the couch in peace. For being 10 years old, she is very curious. She likes to inspect all of her surroundings. If you get a package in the mail, Margaret will probably be more excited about it than you are. She loves to watch videos of little critters, such as birds, rodents, fish, etc. She would probably love a nice spot by the window, but unfortunately my apartment doesn’t have any good wildlife views. She’s been happy to live a tech savvy life, and subscribes to several YouTube channels for cats. Beware: she’s been known to steal that delicious human food right off the plate!
