Please email the completed application to pat.woofriver@gmail.com
Please submit an application AND do NOT also contact the shelter. You will be contacting both the adoption coordinator and the marketing director, who do not see each other's emails. This causes confusion.
Bosco is a friendly one-year-old, 13.5-pound male Boston Terrier who is full of affection and personality. He was found running down a rural Mississippi road. After unsuccessfully searching for his owners, his current foster parents took him in and fell in love with his quirky disposition, which matches his equally-quirky markings. His lightening bolt corkscrew tail, white face, jowls and freckles make him especially cute, but his most endearing feature is his desire to be close to his humans. He is a loyal cuddler and takes his job super seriously, but also considers playing an important part time job whether it be with people or other animals.
Loves: his humans, cheese, cuddles, sunshine, swimming, sleeping under covers, fetch, snoring, walks, car rides. Dislikes: the vacuum and the spray bottle.
He is potty and kennel trained and has graduated from puppy obedience classes but is still working on some commands. He needs help from his humans on chewing behavior and understanding/following boundaries set in place for him, but he is eager to please and responds quickly to corrections.
He is currently in a home with small children, a senior dog and a cat. His foster family believes he will acclimate well again to children, dogs and cats in his new home, but (being the lap dog he is) would also thrive as the only child and would gladly soak up all of your love and affection!
BOSCO is neutered, up to date on all shots, and is microchipped.
His $450 adoption fee includes interstate health certificate and cost of transport once adopted.

All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, they travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Alpha Dog Pet Transport for our New England, Nashville, and Knoxville adoptions (https://alphadogtransport.com) and The Road Home Pet Transport for our Midwest adopters (https://www.facebook.com/roadhomepettransport).
Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff.
Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding.
