Please submit an application AND do NOT also contact the shelter. You will be contacting both the adoption coordinator and the marketing director, who do not see each other's emails. This causes confusion.
"OH MY GOSH THAT IS THE CUTEST THING I'VE EVER SEEN" is exactly what I squealed the first time I saw a picture of MICKEY! I am the director of Woof River and the person lucky enough to be MICKEY's foster mom. I, in no uncertain terms, love this dog.
MICKEY has a joy for life that radiates from him at all times. He gets along with young dogs, old dogs, big dogs, small dogs, and everyone in between. He is well liked by my 4 resident pups who range from 9 lbs and 15 years old to 100 lbs and 2 years old. He has also attended doggie daycare and received an A+ report card. MICKEY is down to play as long as another pup is willing, but is also just fine laying on a dog bed chewing a bone when other dogs want to relax.
This boy aims to please and adores car rides! He knows not to potty in the house, uses the doggie door like a pro, and trots in his crate willingly when its time for me to leave the house. MICKEY also loves going for walks and playing fetch with a ball. At night, he curls up on a dog bed in the bedroom and will stay there happily until you are ready to get moving in the morning. MICKEY is a year old so he is full of puppy curiosity and zeal for life but passed the stage of no bladder control and chewing on everything. His giant ears, slight underbite, corkscrew tail, and priceless speckled nose are irresistible. He is the perfect pup to accompany you on all of life's journeys. He will surely bring daily smiles and a lifetime of happy memories to his forever family.
MICKEY is microchipped, neutered, and up to date on all vaccinations.
His $450 adoption fee includes his interstate health certificate and cost of transport once adopted.

All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, they travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Alpha Dog Pet Transport for our New England, Nashville, and Knoxville adoptions (https://alphadogtransport.com) and The Road Home Pet Transport for our Midwest adopters (https://www.facebook.com/roadhomepettransport).
Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff.
Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding.
