Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Charlie Brown! Just as the name indicates, you will fall completely in love with this pathetic little guy! He will just wiggle his little tail and make you his forever! This little guy weights 32 pounds and is about 6-7 years old. Charlie was a stray and based upon his behavior, we believe he has been the victim of animal abuse. He will not look at people in the face, avoids eye contact, is shy of certain cleaning items (mops and brooms) and cowers when voices are raised. He's a gentle soul looking for someone to bring him out of his shell with love and affection. As soon as he was in our care he was taken to the vet for vaccines (Rabies, Distemper series, Bordetella, and Leptospirosis), heartworm tested (and was negative), microchipped so he will never be lost again, and given a nice bubbly bath. He has since been neutered and has gone through treatment for parasites found on his fecal exam (giardia and lungworm). He is current on flea prevention and heartworm prevention. Although he may seem like an older pup, he is still playful and mischievous at heart. We have come to realize that Charlie has confinement anxiety (he may have been abused while crated where he couldn't get away) and will either need to be in a home where owners are home often, or can take him with. He is a great little errand buddy and does great in the car! Due to his anxiety, he will try to escape any crate and fence. If he can't climb it, then he will try to go under. If he can fit is head through, his body will follow. Because of this, he will need a home with a 6 foot fence, privacy fence or invisible fence. He really doesn't like being tied out and prefers the freedom to safely explore his surroundings. He loves to play with other dogs and doesn't mind cats. He plays very well with his other foster brother and the other little dogs the foster mom has. He has been around children occasionally and has done wonderful with them, enjoying the petting and attention of gentle little hands. He is potty trained. He loves to be with his people. He likes chew toys, and his nose does get him into trouble with the litter boxes. He's your typical beagle! He loves to snuggle up to you and curl up on soft beds or at your side. When you pet him he gets excited and makes the cutest little grunting noises! He lets your know he's really enjoying it! This little man has had such a hard life by the evidence of scars on his little nose and ears, won't you take him in for some pampering? To make him yours, just visit our website at www.countrysideanimalrescue.org and fill out our adoption application. After that, one of our adoption specialists will contact you regarding your application. Charlie Brown's adoption fee is a $200 donation. If you do not meet/unwilling to provide the required enclosure for his safety, your application will not be approved. He's been a stray for a long time - we don't want him to be a stray ever again.
