Here's what the humans have to say about me:
10/27/14- This handsome guy was unceremoniously dumped on our shelter doorstep, left in a tiny carrier on a hot summer's day. Since we are all volunteers who work day jobs and come to the shelter to care for cats in the evening, Willis was super-lucky that someone stopped by at 10AM to find him baking in the plastic carrier. He might have been there since late the night before, but anyhow he was unharmed! For this express reason, we DO NOT PUBLISH our address, this has unfortunately happened before. We thought this small guy to be a youngster and were shocked that when we took him to be neutered, the vet said he is anywhere from 5-8 years old! The vet had judged this on his missing 1/2 his teeth- but we don't think she took into account his FIV+ status, which effects the teeth in some cats causing them to lose them faster than non FIV cats. Willis had bilateral healed scrape wounds or burns on his legs, possibly from being restrained or from a cigarette, but the fur has grown back. What he has been through will always be a mystery, the "dumpers" did their best to scratch off their name and address off the carrier, all we could see was the South Boston zip code. SO WILLIS is now safe, neutered(no one had bothered to give him any medical care), vaccinated and packing on the pounds! He is a little sweety, not a big boy at all, and very affectionate. He is healthy, his FIV+ status will not effect his longevity as long as he is properly cared for. Won't someone give this nice cat a cushy rest of his life?
