Australian Terriers are small-sized dogs. According to the American Kennel Club (AKC), Australian Terriers should weigh between 15 and 20 pounds and stand 10 to 11 inches tall at the shoulder. This small, sturdy breed is known for their compact size and well-proportioned build.
In comparison to similar breeds, Australian Terriers are similar in height and weight to West Highland White Terriers (Westies), are heavier than but of similar height to Norwich Terriers and Cairn Terriers, and are slightly lighter than but of similar height to Scottish Terriers.
