How much do Otterhounds shed?
Otterhounds shed moderately. Their thick, rough, double coat is designed for water resistance and sheds regularly, but not excessively, compared to some other breeds. However, they do experience heavier shedding periods, especially during seasonal changes (spring and fall).
Regular brushing a couple of times per week helps manage shedding and prevents their coat from becoming matted. This also reduces the amount of loose hair around the house.
