Please submit an application AND do NOT also contact the shelter. You will be contacting both the adoption coordinator and the marketing director, who do not see each other's emails. This causes confusion.
RUBY is very much pint sized perfection and a true companion dog. This girl can literally sit in your lap ALL DAY. However, she is also thrilled to go lengthy walks or hikes with her people. She shares her foster home with another dog who is known to be quite crabby. Sweet Ruby has even made the grumpy dog love her. She sleeps in the bed with her foster parents at night and lets all the neighborhood children love on her. She can be a little timid at first, but warms up quickly. She sticks right by her foster family wherever they go. She is also great on a leash and in the car. She doesn't currently live with any kitty cats, but she has met them before and been just fine. RUBY is 2 years old and 8 lbs. This scruffy sweetie is going to be an amazing addition to her forever family.
RUBY is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations.
Her $450 adoption fee includes interstate health certificate and transport to the New England area.

All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, they travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Alpha Dog Pet Transport for our New England, Nashville, and Knoxville adoptions (https://alphadogtransport.com) and The Road Home Pet Transport for our Midwest adopters (https://www.facebook.com/roadhomepettransport).
Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff.
Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding.
