BFW Rescue Inc is a 501(c)3 non-profit organizaation dedicated to helping Bernese Mountain Dogs in need. We are staffed by volunteers from coast to coast who ensure each Berner receives medical care, professional training if needed and general care. All Bernese Mountain Dogs are placed in a foster home.
Our rescues come in to our care from various circumstances. Some are from shelters across the country, some are from families who could no longer care for them and some are even found on the streets.
No matter what their beginnings were, our goal is to make sure they find happy loving homes where they are part of the family.

Additional adoption info
To adopt from BFW Rescue Inc, all potential adopters must complete an adoption application and submit it for review. Once the application is reviewed and it appears the potential adopter will be a good match for the dog, an interview and home inspection will be scheduled. If all goes well with the first interview and home inspection, a second interview with a different member of our group will be scheduled. If it is agreed by both interviewers that the potential adopted is a match for the dog, the adoption will move forward. There is an adoption contract to be signed and return. There is also an adoption donation of normally $450 but may vary from dog to dog. Once both the signed adoption contract and adoption donation have been received, all medical records and other information about the dog will be released to the adopted. We do not transport our dogs, all adopters must make arrangements to pick adopted dog up from its foster home.
