The Animal Services Department is a division of Abbeville County government. Our mission is to help protect public health and safety from dangerous and nuisance animals, educate the public about responsible pet ownership, enforce state and local laws pertaining to the care and treatment of animals, and promote the adoption of homeless, rescued or neglected animals into a safe and responsible environment.

Applications may be completed online by or if you prefer, contact us to receive an application form. Adoption fees for dogs are $50.00 and include spay/neuter, vaccinations, and microchip. Until the new Pet Adoption Center is open, all animals are being housed at the City of Abbeville Animal Control Kennel and are available for viewing by appointment only.
