Hermitage Animal Relief Team

Dog rescue in Hermitage, TN

We are a small rescue comprised of four founders and a handful of generous volunteers. The co-founders met when we were volunteers in various rescue efforts around Nashville and we became close friends. Our suburban community just outside of Nashville has an alarming overpopulation of dogs and cats. We are doing our part to get those dogs healthy, vetted, trained and find them loving homes where they can thrive. We also offer a pet assistance program to people struggling to provide for their animals. We will help with food/supplies and basic vetting for residents of select ZIP codes. We push spay/neuter and rescue in everything we do!

Additional adoption info

ALL adopters must first be approved through our application (which is available online or in hard copy in person). The application asks a series of questions about the adopters' lifestyle, plans for the dog(s) etc. Once an application is approved, we will set up a meet-n-greet with the family (other pets included). If all goes well, we will do a home check and finalize the adoption. This means signing our adoption contract, paying the adoption fee, and handing over the animal's paperwork. We do allow a 1-week trial to ensure the dog(s) and the family are a good match. On the rare occasion that a dog is returned within the 1-week trial period, the adoption fee is refundable. ALL of our dogs are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. In the event that an pup is too young to be fixed at the time of adoption or is undergoing treatment for a health condition, that falls under the "foster-to-adopt" category, meaning, the dog can live with them, but the adoption isn't final until surgery/age appropriate vaccinations are complete. On top of vetting, we also chip all dogs prior to adoption.
Adoption fees vary from $150-$350 depending on several factors including vetting costs, type of dog, etc.
