Additional adoption info
First step to an adoption is to fill out the adoption application which can be found at the end of each dog's description. Emails are fine but it is best to just go ahead and fill out an adoption application first. Then that dog or puppy's foster mom will give you a call and can visit with you about everything and answer all of your questions. Our goal is to adopt each and every dog and puppy to the best homes possible and for that dog or puppy to be happy and the adopter to be pleased. Adopting is a lifetime commitment. I remember my own dog that was dropped off on the road and he found his way close to my house, he was about a year old, now he has a gray face and is old and feeble but it seems like yesterday when I first saw him hungry, thirsty and not sure if he should come to me or not. Treat any dog or puppy each day like you just met them because it seems time passes so fast and they too will be old and gray, wouldn't it nice if they could live as long as we do.
Our adoptable dogs are in Arkansas in foster homes, and when adopted they can travel to the northeast by transport to their new homes. The foster mom will go into detail when speaking to the adopter.
Adoption fees:
Each dog's adoption fee will be listed on that dog or puppy's description. Which includes:
Vaccinations, Puppies are given 2 - 5 in 1 vaccinations before they go to their new homes and are given their 3rd vaccination if still in foster care. Adult dogs are given their vaccinations and also a Booster if needed.
Rabies vaccination done by veterinarian if 3 months and older.
Heart worm prevention during the time the dog or puppy is in foster care and agreed by adopter that heart worm prevention will continue to be given to that dog or puppy after they go to adopter's home.
De-worming which is given during time puppy or dog is in foster care. Please note it is important for an adopted dog or puppy to stay on heart worm prevention because it not only protects against heart worms but other worms as round, whip and hook.
Flea/tick prevention which is given monthly while in foster care
Spay/neuter if the dog is old enough. Adopter must sign a contract for any reason the puppy is not altered before he goes to adopter's home so that puppy will be spayed or neutered by the time they are 6 months old.
