We are a handful of volunteers in Heard County Georgia. Heard County Humane Society is a Ga licensed, nonprofit, animal rescue based in Roopville/Franklin. It includes private foster homes and does not have a facility. We do not take in animals from the public (owner surrenders) or strays. Adoption fees and requirements are based on a case by case need, and all applicants are subject to extensive questioning. Our interests always put the animals first. Decisions are not first come, first serve, but best match only!
There is a huge need, because Heard County only has an Animal Control facility and not a shelter. Animals are at risk as soon as their 3-day stray hold date is over. We were formed to assist in pulling animals, networking them and to work to spay/neuter as many as possible in our county.

Additional adoption info
We strive to get our rescued animals matched with the best forever homes. Because of this, a Pre-adoption questionnaire is required for review. The questionnaire must be completed before any pet visits will be arranged. We prefer to have the entire family meet the potential pet.
There is a general contract to sign at the time of adoption. Fees typically range from $150-$250 per animal, depending on the cost of vetting.
