HSKL has been aiding pets for 30 years in the City of Kawartha Lakes. We have a small staff and rely on our amazing volunteers to help run the shelter. Our Board of Directors is also volunteer based.

We, the Humane Society of Kawartha Lakes, envision the day when every animal in the City of Kawartha Lakes has a good quality of life with a caring, responsible, and knowledgeable owner, and is free from the fear of abuse, neglect, and ignorance.

By establishing partnerships within the community, Humane Society of Kawartha Lakes, a charitable organization, is dedicated to providing leadership in the:

-Protection and provision of the humane care and treatment of all animals

Humane Society of Kawartha Lakes (HSKL) is the only registered non-profit animal shelter in the City of Kawartha Lakes.

We are located in Lindsay, ON.

Additional adoption info

Cats: Depending on the age of the cat, adoption rates range from $200 to $280.

Dogs: Depending on the age of the dog, adoption rates are $260 to $465.

To help alleviate shelter over-crowding, we have reduced adoption fee events through-out the year. These events will be advertised.

HSKL is a proud participant of the "iAdopt for the Holidays" campaign, an annual national adoption campaign that drives pet adoptions during the holiday season.
