Since opening its doors in 2001, the mission of Guardian Angels Cat Club has been to provide shelter and assistance to stray, abandoned, injured and abused and otherwise homeless cats and kittens in the City of Hot Springs and Garland County, Arkansas. The Shelter's purpose is to adopt its cats into loving, forever homes.
Guardian Angels Cat Rescue & Adoption Shelter, as it is now known, has expanded its mission to include an aggressive feline spay and neuter program which includes the distribution of low cost or no cost spay and neuter vouchers to low income individuals or families or simply those who face a burgeoning feral or free roaming cat population in their neighborhood.
Thankfully, a number of veterinary clinics in Hot Springs, working closely with the animal rescue and welfare groups in the area, recognize the desperate situation faced by these organizations and, in partnership with Guardian Angels Cat Rescue, Paws and Claws Rescue, Stop Animal Cruelty and the Humane Society of Garland County, support the high volume demands of each group's voucher program.
Guardian Angels Cat Rescue & Adoption Shelter houses up to 136 cats and kittens at its facility at 907 Hobson Ave., Hot Springs, AR 71913. Due to licensing constraints and the fact that, Guardian Angels is a no-kill facility, individuals wishing to surrender cats or kittens, should understand that the Shelter is not able to accept animals when capacity is at maximum.
However, Guardian Angels Cat Rescue will use every resource at its disposal to assist the public in finding alternative means of rehoming a cat or kitten.
Guardian Angels Cat Rescue & Adoption Shelter is operated solely on a volunteer basis, none of its members are paid and the Shelter itself operates on public donations and revenue from its Thrift Store located onsite. Effectively, all funds are exclusively dedicated to the maintenance of the Shelter and to the upkeep of its feline residents.
