Shelter FAQs
We are a very small volunteer organization at The Searcy County Humane Society operating only on Private Donations and Proceeds from our small Thrift Store. We are now able to advertise our dogs online and hopefully will find them all "Fur ever Homes". We try to help as many as we can in Searcy County but can only do so much as we are a no kill shelter with limited space. We can currently house around 17 big dogs comfortably and we have a small area for puppies.
We serve all of Searcy County Arkansas. We will even travel to bring you your new Furbaby if needed.
Adoption steps
- Visit the Facility and Find a Petyou can come visit our facility and see the dogs and see if there are any fur friends that you fall in love with
- Submit Applicationsubmit your application and we will review
- Meet the Petwould love for you to come spend some time with the pet
- Interviewwe will talk with you and make sure you will be a good fit for our pets and talk about your home situation

Additional adoption info
Our adoption process is quite simple. We have a 3 page form asking questions such as do you own/rent, do you have a fenced yard, references etc. We do require a $75 adoption fee at the time of adoption. This helps us partially cover the spay/neuter fees and any medical costs of the pet.
