Animal rescue in Colbert, GA

Colbert Veterinary Rescue Services, Inc. believes that pets and people enhance each other's lives.

Why should you adopt a pet from us: Our pets are fully vetted and healthy unless they are special needs. They are fed a high quality diet including grain-free pet food and probiotic supplements. Pets are trained and socialized while they are in our care.

Our new dog building, Heart For Mutts Haven, will enable us to streamline the care of the dogs and make more time for socialization and training. It will also provide a homelike indoor environment and outdoor playtime for the dogs. We are still in need of funds to finish paying for the building.

Rescue FAQs

Madison County, GA and other place in GA.
We can adopt and arrange transport for animals in other areas. We have done several transports to CT.

Additional adoption info

An adopter must fill out the application on our website.
We check references. If these are OK, the adopter and family must come to meet the pet. If they are adopting a dog, any other dogs they own must be here to do a meet and greet. The adoption fee in GA is $200 and the contract is signed. If the adopters decide they can no longer care for the animal, we ask that they contact us to return the pet. The fee is higher for out of state adoptions when we provide transportation. We or someone cooperating for us will do a home visit several weeks after the adoption to check the home and address any problems.
