Another Chance Cat Rescue was founded on July 7, 2011, by Mina Herron in Kansas City, MO. Identifying the severe overpopulation of cats, Mina has rescued, fixed, and found homes to over 1,000 kitties since the 1980’s. “It is impossible to determine how many stray dogs and cats live in the United States; estimates for cats alone range up to 70 million”(ASPCA.com). Currently, ACCR has 240 cats and about 30 kittens awaiting adoption. Our motto is: Saving one animal will not change the world, but it will forever change world for that animal.
We do not receive any grant funding at this time and operate solely from adoption fees and donations. We rescue many animals off the streets and save many of our foster babies from euthanasia at other shelters. Monetary donations from you will assist with continued spay and neuters, medical care, expand our volunteer program, provide education for families, and move out of the current location of the shelter as it is a flood zone every time it pours rain.

Additional adoption info
We do need to talk with you and greatly desire you to meet potential pets so that all of us are comfortable with the decision. We do charge a fee (ranges with various breeds), however, your fee that you pay goes to excellent use. We continue to spay and neuter each pet that arrives at our doorstep. We have an application that can be emailed to you and hopefully will be uploaded soon. Thank you!
